Stealth explain it to me

Post » Sat Feb 15, 2014 12:00 pm

From what i have been able to find I understand any class can do it, its duration is determined by stamina pool and when your in stealth your invisible to the other players and it takes more than a glance in your direction to be detected.

What I want to know is, does being a Khajit Nightblade give me any advantage stealth wise over say an Orc tank in heavy plate?

Will I have the ability to be able to stalk someone over a distance and pop out of stealth with a big back stab crit?

Just love playing a rogue type character like the original wow rogue don't blast me for mentioning wow but the original rogue was really well done imo. Thanks for any help guys.

PS: Only interested in how it works in pvp couldn't care less about pve :D

Wait. Wait. Wait. Stealth makes you invisible to other players in PvP?

Another reason to love Nightblade.

Some of those questions I don't think I could answer without at least bending the NDA.

Others you can answer yourself from looking at information that has been published about skills.

Eg. Nightblades have a few passives which boost stealth in different ways and wearing medium (for any profession) provides a few benefits too.

Nightblade's don't get any huge stealth advantages, really. Though their TEMPORARY invisibility is nice.

@OP:

You crouch, you slip into stealth. Anything that can see you will still see you, so LOS (line of sight) is important. Your stamina depletes as you MOVE while stealthed, but not when still. If you successfully hide when nobody can see you, then you are 100% invisible until you pop out or someone gets close enough to spot you.

Medium armor offers perks such as increased stealth radius and cheaper movement, and other skill lines such as [BLOCKED BY NDA] offer the ability to move faster while stealthed, etc.

Crouching makes you invisible except for a round shadowy thing on the ground... as long as you're far enough away, of course.

Nightblade has true invisibilty, but it's very short duration. Nightblade also has some skills that synergize with stealth (work better if char is stealthed). It's also possible to make invisibility pots, so every char has some access.

Khajiit and Bosmer have passives which give bonuses to stealth (radius and damage), as does Medium Armor (detection, stamina cost).

So, the best stealther is gonna be a Khajiit or Bosmer Nightblade in medium armor. But you don't HAVE to go that way to be a GOOD stealther. You're gonna need a variety of combat abilities, after all.

I noticed wood elf also has the stealth bonus plus an archery bonus Im thinking after readin this topic a woodelf ranged nightblade would be good, I could snipe from a distance stealth hide rinse repeat.

Since khajit nightblade has the melee bonus I would be better off getting in close and opening with melee, however stealth while moving depletes stamina so not so viable?
