[RELz] Stealth Overhaul Redux

OK I have implemented a code that changes how the sneak penalty is applied. I never liked the fact that it edited the skill directly as it can cause compatibility issues with other mods, like nGCD for example. So when the player has a sneak penalty a drain effect is applied, and when he has a bonus a fortification effect is applied.

Now my only thing I am wondering is if the effect should be applied while the player is sneaking, or should be active at all times. In my mind it doesn't if you are sneaking or not, the penalty should always be there.

What do you think?



Wasn't having a sneak drain a huge incompatibility problem with Proximity Based Sneak Penalties mod with some leveling mods like Realistic Leveling?

Could be a problem with mods that don't detect when an ability is being drained. I am actually asking tejon right now how his nGCD works in comparison to drain effects.

But having too many mods altering stats by using modav might cause issues as well, or at least I've read quite a few times around here.
If it's too much of a headache I will simply remove it.

I don't thinh it is Nehrim compatable well I just tried it & my game crashed on load but I like the idea of no messages so will try it again soon

Well the one on the nexus page is from 6 months ago, so I don't think he has released a new one. Unless I'm missing a link somewhere.

Does it have a master (oblivion.esm) if so then you need to reassign the master to Nehrim.esm. Crashing on start is usually a sign of missing master file.

Thanks I thought that might be the problem . I found the link somewhere & it said the mod was Nehrim compatable, It's time I started using gecko

You're likely confusing JOGs original mod that just got updated (more recently) with this redux version.

JOGs version is Nerhim compatible.

yes & gives me constant messages about how cool my weapon is :wink_smile: so I want to get redux working with Nerhim. JOGs is just a little to verbose for me beebee

Not sure what you mean here. I don't get messages while playing with it.

well I don't know what i'm doing wrong then I seem to get messages in a really large font telling me that myy current weapon will do 2 or 3 damage anyway it works & I wiil use it for now now I would just love to find a way to replace that huge oblivion hud with something more discreet

I seem to be having an issue with the Assassination power either not working or not displaying properly.

Leveled my Sneak skill up to 50, got the Assassination greater power. The description in-game says it lasts for 30 seconds, but the readme says it should be 10 seconds, given my current Sneak level. I haven't actually timed how long it lasts in game.

Anyway, I was sneak-attacking a bandit to check the new power. My normal multiplier with a dagger is x9, so since I sneak-attacked while the Assassination power was active (according to the "timer" icon for the effect in my upper-right corner of the screen), I was expecting to see "Sneak attack x18" appear on screen. Instead, I got the "Sneak attack x9" message.

I guess there are a few explanations for this:

1) the Assassination power is not working for me (which would be a shame)
2) the Assassination power is working fine, but it just doesn't display the correct multiplier on screen (I can live with this!)

Is anyone else having a similar issue? Any help is much appreciated.
