First off welcome :disguise:
Second yes there is stealth they have an entire class devoted to it. No not normal sniping, you can make rifles like a sniper but no OHK snipers thank god. And if your asking about split screen nothing is known about it yet.

Also you might want to check this it has a ton of information about brink.... at least what we know and it is not official so some of it is speculation. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1102014-brink-info-compendium-v2/

yeah. You should probably have checked the FAQ before you posted this, because its a simle question with no need for an entire topic of its own.

The operative, that is all. Most games can be played stealthy its all about how you play. No OHK sniper rifles. Yes offline coop.

Hah, so I'm not the only one relieved that there aren't OHK sniper rifles. No more obnoxious campers sniping from afar behind their teammates!

(the following is said in an informing way) there have been made several posts, wich were backed by devs saying the same, that there will be no split screen.

Thank you for clarifying, not like that would annoy me anyway, I'm on PC anyway. :celebration:

Yup its one of the selling points. Single/coop/multi all the same.

I'm kinda confused by the term 'offline co op'... I know they melded them but unless there was some change to split screen, co op needs net connection, or at least LAN.

or do you mean offline/co-op rather than offline co-op

The cinematic trailer showed one hit snipers did it not !

The cinematics also showed a rocket launcher and a backflip blablabla to dodge it. Which both are NOT in the game, but it's just cool for a cinematic.
Besides snipers are confirmed to not be OHKO. The video you were referring to is probably the latest dev diary. It's also not a sniper, it's an Highpowered AR with a scope. The guy who got shot toook probably some damage before.

Ontopic:

There's a "stealth class", the operative. He can disguise himself when he steals the outfit of a member of the other team. Only other operatives can spot disguised people. They are also able to hack certain objectives. Combine this class with a light body type (which gives you faster movement and more options with the SMART system) and you can be pretty stealthy. In addition, operatives can do backstabs which are OHKO's (if I remember correctly)

As for the mindless shooting and ducking.. This game is Objective based. Every kill you do, helps the team in pushing forward and completing objectives. The defending team wins if they can prevent the attacking team from completing the main objectives (F.e. Blow something up) The attacking teams wins only when they completed all main objectives. If your team consists of lonewolfs only, who are focused on killing, then you'll lose without a doubt. However, there are four classes which all serve a purpose. Like they said earlier, read the compendium, it contains a lot of information. (It's not an official topic though)

By stealth you mean NOT literally going invisble by some fancy light-bending technology? Because I honestly don't want to see that though it may be cool.

The only time I'd like to see that is no special deployables or items and not a second skin for humans to wear which allows them to go invisible.

FYI: Years ago I read a national paper in the UK. This paper reported a science on a material that could use light to ineffectively camoflage (stealth). If that stuff is happening now then maybe a more realistic version of complete-invisibility stealth in BRINK could happen with this science in-mind.
My thought of my suggestion is: No complete invisibility. Something lesser than that.

No, because you can't. Complete invisibility is overpowerd for a game like this. When you disguise yourself, you're still visible to everyone, but the other team will see you as one of them (since you stole the outfit of one of their death guys) Your team will know that you're disguised, in the other team only the operatives can see it. Whenever you fire a weapon or stab someone, you'll lose your disguise.

Clarification: Yes, there is offline LAN co-op

not splitscreen, which I believe is confirmed to NOT be in.

Exactly what I had in-mind. Stay still long enough and player blends into a 360° background. Player-viewers will barely see the player stealth-user and will only see them if:
  • If the Viewer get there early before the User adapts to surroundings
  • Viewer looks directly at User and moves around (light on chamelion exoskin shifts?)
  • User moves (the camoflaged adaptive lighting on the exoskin would stay) where it would look as if the wall and litter had copy-pasted and moved.

So only if your standing still... I think that would be interesting to see, I am sure others would disagree. The operative already has plenty of tools at his disposal sadly we don't know them all.

There should be stealth because without it why will they make an OPERATIVE. :toughninja:

Any class can be stealthy it depends on the player, I am still waiting on that link.

There should be no stealth as there's already disguising.

I'd like a Chameleon style camo ability, possibly as a "perk" style ability. However, it should be expensive (?) and fairly inefficient, only good in a fast situation. Contact with a cloaked Operative should shatter their cloak though.
