Stealth suit or light armor?

Post » Tue Jun 23, 2015 1:01 pm

I'd like to be quick while sneaking. Am I faster with the Stealth suit MKII (+20%) or light armor with the Tunnel Runner and the Travel Light perks? With the suit I'd save those 2 perks, of course, and could use them on something else.

What would you prefer for sneaking? Stealth suit MKII or Light armor?

Honestly, Either could work. I personally do not like the talking out of the stealth suit mkII.

Light armor with just tunnel runner is plenty fast, I've never felt the need to grab the travel light perk as well.

The stealth suit MKII is an amusing character but it might get old after a while.

Going light armor opens up at level 2 with light touch perk that gets you +5% crit and a -25% chance to be critted. Also the +5% crit rate is not affected by your weapon so it is really good with miniguns or anything with a multiplier of less than 1. It also allows you to use any of the great light armors rather than locking you into a single armor that you won't get until later in the game.

P.S. Going light armor also lets you take Silent Running perk which greatly enhances stealth based characters

You are right. But I'm already quite late in the game but I haven't done any of the DLCs so far.

I'm level 26 and try to figure out what to do with my perks from here on. I'm a little frustrated, that I've taken the Small Frame trait, with which I already have 10 Agi. So at least the +1 Agi bonus from the Stealth Suit would be useless, except maybe in situations where I have a Agi penalty, like with drug withdrawal.

You could always have the auto doc change that small frame trait to something else to avoid "wasting" an agility point.

I plot out most of my characters perks before I ever start. I come up with the concept, design the build and then implement. I also use JSawyer so only have 34 levels for perks so you need to focus on what is essential to the build, which is an aspect of the mod that I really like.

Where is that Auto Doc? I found one in Caesar's Fort but I think I can't use it anymore since I killed all of them.

There are other perks that benefit light armor than tunnel runner, making it a much better choice for a sneaker than the Stealth Armor. Ironically i think it's auto stimpack and med-x injection along with it being a medium armor with only 1 DT lower than combat armor makes it better for frontal assault than sneaking :lmao:

It's the one in The Sink, in Old World Blues at the Big MT. It asks if you want a psych profile or something like that.

That Stealth Suit shot me so full of Med-X that I got addicted to the stuff. I started taking it out of my inventory when I was wearing the Stealth Suit.

For myself, I stuck to Light Armor. Silent Running, Travel Light, and Light Touch are great, and it ended up with Tunnel Runner, I could move just as fast crouched as I could standing. And I actually liked the look of the Assassin Suit better anyway.

That said, the Stealth Suit is pretty funny. "I'll miss you..."

Light armor, without a shadow of doubt.

Tunnel + t. light + implant M-5 make your speed ridiculous fast.

but more importantly is s. running.

You have played Dead money? You can play the entire DLC without being seen (the exception is two specific parts when you leave police station after recruit Dog and when u leave the clinic after recruit Chris. The guys will see you anyway, even if you being alone, it is programmed)
