I know sneak is in, but I would like to be able to kill without bene seen, or using bow, silenced gun, and not alert everyone.
Wouldn't mind (or be surprised) either, just be ready for more comparisons to Skyrim that are bound to be made.
Title has been changed.
Please do not mislead like that again, it's only seen as trolling.
Crossbows and recurve bows would be a welcome addition to the weapon line-up, yes.
I wouldn't mind a bow as a very low level weapon (Think .32 pistol level of useless).
Crossbows, with metal bolts... plausible. String bows with arrows....? I think you got the wrong game
Indeed it isn't, but often in a post apocalyptic situation... more primitive weapons have been fashioned, such as crude bows, spears, etc, when there is a lack of conventional weapons. With that in mind, and the relative ease it is to obtain guns.. you could have an argument saying they are obsolete within the fallout world... but following that line of thought, so are melee weapons.... So there is room for a bow... it doesn't have to be exactly like it is implemented in TES, but it wouldn't hurt to have it as an optional weapon for stealth characters.
I don't like the sound of bows in Fallout, sorry. I know there are some 'early civilization weapons' such as the spear but Caesar's Legion only really use melee weapons as they considered firearms unreliable due to their tendency to jam which, in turn, is probably down to their lack of weapon maintenance experience (I know Caesar himself has experience with weapon maintenance, but he can't maintain every single weapon in his army now, can he? )
Perhaps having it as an optional weapon would be ok. Or better yet, have it as a weapon you can craft, but it will do very little damage to armored enemies. For example, I wouldn't like to see an arrow shot at somebody in Power Armor and have it deal (how ever low it is) something like 1 HP worth of damage. Those arrows should bounce right off.
I do think bows are quite essential for any post-apocolyptic scenario....but the fact that Beth also make TES is the only reason I think it shouldn't be done.
Instead I'd like them to flesh out thrown-weapons and make it completely viable to use only them. Explosive tipped throwing spears please.
Maybe they could incorporate bows as high-stealth or high-limb damage weapons. I'd be totally down for crossbows, but a little more indifferent to just bows.
I love bows, it'd be a welcome addition to the game if it's used in the most non-primitive way. It should be a rare item, and crafted by many parts from woods to metals and should shoot mostly like a gun. It will look like a bow, but with a trigger. No string pulling with the other hand. It can have a string, but should pull back automatically in a quick manner.
There're plenty of tribals out in the Wasteland to make the inclusion of bows something that fits in with the universe. It's not like people are asking to shoot lightning out of their hands.
While we're sorta on the subject, can we please have the Dart Gun back?
Yeah because whenever I play oh I dunno, Tomb Raider or The last of us or The Witcher 3 I'm always worried I'm gonna accidentally open a portal to Tamriel. Did you notice the outrage at them adding a crossbow to the Witcher? Neither did I.
Wasn't there an electric power fist in Fallout 3?
*looks it up*
Yep. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/The_Shocker
A bow and arrow setup would actually make sense in the wasteland, or at least where guns are less affordable.
Native Americans used them for battle, and hunting. You wanna talk about people livin' the Wasteland lifestyle, there ya go.
