Steam activation is enough!

So, dear Mr Pete Hines and the other important people @ Bethesda, have you found out that the Pc version of the game is already pirated? I , a legit buyer of the collector's edition am still looking in my mail to see if the store has shipped the box, while the pirates are already playing and bashing your game all over the internet.

If piracy is the real reason you didn't put all the game on disc for Pc, then I'm afraid it didn't work, so I hope when you release the next game you ship most of the content (maybe 99%?) so as not to torture your legit buyers who don't have good internet with humongous downloads, after all they chose the retail version for a reason! GTA V shipped with 5 or 6 dvd's and I applaud them for that "tiny" detail. Activation by Steam is already a sort of drm.

That would be an leaked preview version. Yes it can be an internal leak from Bethesda or Steam but that is far less likely.

The PC preview version does not use steam.

Note that some people cheat steam to get an early activation, its legit but they use some tricks probably VPN to fake living in New Zealand or similar.

Bethesda clearly don't understand, or simply don't care. Given that a Steam purchase can normally be preloaded before the relase of the game, why would anyone with fast internet buy the physical version? So clearly most of the purchasers of the physical version are buying it becuase THEY CAN'T DOWNLOAD IT.....

Living in rural Australia I have slow, unreliable internet and a limit of 10G/month, with extra data at $4/G. So I ordered the physical version, like I did with Skyrim and every other game I own. I'm happy to type in a Steam code to be authorised. I'm happy to download a patch or two. But I have paid for a DVD because I simply CANNOT download the entire game.

So this morning I have to drive to town and try to get a refund on the useless plastic disc I have paid for.........

I live in Australia. So maybe they all didn't cheat the wait? Because I can go collect the game now.
