I may be able to buy Oblivion thru Steam, but I have one relevant concern: mods and the use of those 'mod managers / loaders'.

I habe played O in the past so as to know more or less what I wanna add. My concern is, does it change anything the fact that I use Oblivion from Steam in terms of how the mods word / load?

no it does not.

I use OBSE and OBMM and have Oblivion on Steam and nothing changed.
