Steam and DLC's?

I haven't played Fallout3 for quite some time, but loaded it up and again and it as fun as before.

But I never bothered with the dlc's back then, but now I'm eager to get them, esp. Broken Steel, so I can continue levelling for a bit. Atm, I'm on lvl 19 and haven't checked out half the map and even poor Dogmeat is still in his pound. This game is easy to level if you play as a non-fighter, the fights will find you. And all that science and locks will get you there too easily, if you play that way...I did.

From my old games, I can think that I went out guns blazing and the same history, easy levelling. So before you know it, you hit the cap.

I have tried that silly GLW, but it is sooooo fupped up, so I can't dl the dlc's.

I have the original installed, do I have to make another install for any of these online gamesites, for to them to understand that I have a legit copy? Of course, I can see another install (from my side) will make me lose my saves, but that isn't the issue here. GLW seems to expect me having an XBOX, while I have a PC. Time after time.

So IF I install F3 again, will STEAM let me dl those dlc's?

I'm old and slightly slow in mind, so any help in any direction would be greatly appreciated! :)

I don't know what GLW is, but Steam only seems to have Operation Anchorage, The Pitt and Broken Steel for download.

It says it "Requires the base game Fallout 3 on Steam in order to play."

I'm not sure if this just means you can add your own installation of Fallout 3 to your Games list on Steam, rather than having to buy it from Steam, but I suspect so.

You could try: go to 'Activate a Product on Steam' (under the Games menu) to install your version of Fallout 3 to Steam, and then see if it lets you download a DLC.
If it does, then hopefully it will work - otherwise good luck asking for a refund!
