Steam Autumn Sale 2015

Post » Thu Dec 03, 2015 1:58 am

Some good deals out in the Steam Exploration Sale that went live yesterday. Anyone bought anything yet?

I've had a look and might pick up a few things but think I will wait for the Winter sale that should start late next month.

I will take a look but I doubt I'll buy anything. Bethesda is the only developer I really like, to be honest. I lose interest in games made by other developers pretty quickly. After a few hours I usually return to one of Bethesda's games.

Thats fair enough, but surely there must be one other developer out there that you like?

haha wouldn't that be nice, I do tend to buy physical copies of Bethesda games over digital. I guess they just put a lot of effort into the box art and manual etc and give you some nice bonuses like the Oblivion and Skyrim map :P

I like Bioware pretty well. I'm actually playing Star Wars: The Old Republic right now. But, like I say, I rarely finish their games. The last Bioware game I actually finished was KotOR, back in 2004.

Several games that are of interest, but nothing so far has overcome the little "OMG, don't have the time to play them. There'll be another sale later." voice in my head. :P

:sadvaultboy:

I resisted for 45 minutes, then got the Crysis Pack, CKII Horselords, and the DLC for Bioshock.

EDIT: Can add Europa Universalis IV with the gameplay DLC to the list as well.

haha my impulse control is quite poor as well, I think for the winter sale I'm going to lock my wallet in a cupboard somewhere and give someone the key.

Finally took the plunge and bought The Witcher 3. I never really got into the second game, but I'm willing to give it another chance given the glowing praise surrounding it.

Plus, the CD Projekt lot have one of the most consumer-friendly attitudes out there, so I'd be willing to support them either way.

I went nuts yesterday since I had to set up a new account for my new hard drive (Lost all the details on old account. I'll keep better track this time). Ended up getting 45 games and a bunch of regret over how much I spent. Not on the games themselves. They are all solid choices.

Splashed out on DreadOut and Betrayer. Currently deliberating whether or not to get a second copy of Elite: Dangerous so I can alternate between doing stuff in inhabitated space and carrying on with deep space exploration.

Grabbed Legend of Heroes:Trails in the Sky. Keep being tempted by Starpoint Gemini 2, but then I remember there'll likely be several more sales before I get around to playing it.....

(I just play too many games that are time-sinks. RPGs, explore & build games, ARPG/endless grinders.....)

That's a fun space sandbox. I remember flying a Helios to enemy territory, setting all batteries to auto-fire and dropping cloak  When the shields are up, power cloak back up and engage the... what ever the engine was called and get out of there. Pretty useless, but a lot of fun :hehe:

The power of the ships really does grow during the game too, the starting gunship is a world away from the end game dreadnoughts.

I bought six games yesterday for $40 on Steam, and bought one game on Origin that was on sale for $30. Still waiting for the 24 hour verification period to be up on Origin. It's not like Steam were you buy the game and instantly can download it. No, with Origin you gotta wait 24 hours. :frog:

picked up the second Blazblue game..

i don't necessarily like some of the balance changes (it may just be me, but they seem to have nerfed Jin), but I do like the fighting style of some of the new characters they added.. best of all though, you no longer seem to have to purposely lose battles to get 100% on each characters campaign (thank god)

Switching my internet package to unlimited bandwidth couldn't have come at a better time. I just bought Dying Light for 70% off. (20$ CAD) Looking forward to playing it.
