Steam Deals

Post » Sun May 01, 2011 3:09 pm

I thought we could use a thread like this, to keep track of those good deals Steam tends to have at random. http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage/ deals could be posted too.
Good idea? Yes/no?

I always thought a deal thread would be a good idea, where people can just post good deals on games, hardware and all of that stuff. There are sites dedicated to this sort of thing, but it couldn't hurt to have a topic here too.

Yeah single player is good.

I did Co-op also, it was a lot more fun.

edit: Though I did feel that the game got a bit tedious after a while. Though for $5, it's worth it.

I'm ok with grinding and / or repetitive gameplay

I've been looking for a game for me and my lady friend to play since we are living in diff cities.

Is Titans Quest complex or a simple game simple enough for your average non gamer to pick up and play?

Its not overly complex if youd on't want to be but it can be. Its like Diablo II with a more choices.

I just bought Titan Quest. So far I'm enjoying it.

Me after using volcanic orb for the first time on a small group of skeletons:  ...

Hurray for physics!

Titan Quest has some of the most difficult bosses of any dungeon crawler I have ever played, Typhon being just about the most difficult. Currently I am playing on Epic difficulty and I still have not made it past Typhon. Even in Normal difficulty Typhon was difficult and it really did seem like an epic achievement to take him down. TQ is also moddable and one mod that drastically increases the amount of enemies per encounter is a mod called Xmax, this mod increases monsters by a factor of 10 so you level a lot faster.

TQ Xmax: http://www.titanquest.net/forums/modifications-editor/13688-rel-x2-x3-x4-xmax-monsters-1-1-a.html

Also here is a link to the TQ forums: http://www.titanquest.net/forums/

Titan Quest Gold for ?2.49 is a steal for anyone that doesn't have it already. Shame I didn't bring it with me to uni this year, I wouldn't mind playing it a bit.

Man, Steam keeps svcking me in with their mid-week deals. I grabbed Titan Quest Gold as well, for $4.99. I now have an even bigger backlog of games I have yet to play. But when they are that cheap, like Psychonauts for $2.00, it's hard to resist. The disappointment - to - dollars factor is so greatly reduced, that if I end up being completely "meh" about the game, I don't have any lingering buyers remorse for having spent $30 - $60 on a game I won't play.

I am sure I heard or read somewhere that they do plan on doing something multi-player for Torchlight at some point. That game was temporarily extremely addictive.

You too, huh? I grabbed this deal as well, even though I passed on Titan Quest when the demo originally came out. I figured that for the price of two bottles of Coca-Cola this game had to have at least a similar value of entertainment, and probably a great deal more... In that perspective, it's a real bargain.

Red Faction for $5? I know the game was overall not very good, but mindless destruction for that cheap is hard to come by.

Arrrgg...if I didn't just have to drop $1100 for college classes.

People who got Titan Quest might want to look into TQVault, a program for storing all your loot. It can bork your stuff if you aren't careful, however, so be sure to follow the directions carefully when using it.

I don't think Runic will ever make TL a multiplayer game because they are making TL into an MMO, however there is a mod project in the works that is attempting to do this....so we will see I guess. Here is a link to some modder(s) working on a Multiplayer mod.

Runic Games have officially stated that there will be no multiplayer patch / mod / expansion for Torchlight. (At least nothing official, but there are already a few multiplayer mods in development)

Looks pretty interesting, but it's going to be a while before I get to a second character so I'll leave it for now. :P

I am using the http://www.titanquest.net/forums/bugfix-fanpatch/30510-rel-bugfix-patch-1-17-a.html though.

I'd definitely be interested in some BGSF multiplayer games later on. :)

Just bought Far Cry 2 for $10. I'm not sure I'm going to like it but whatever, I had a gift card and it seems solidly okay.
