http://www.gogamer.com/48-Hour-Madness_stcVVcatId553100VVviewcat.htm is having a little sale.

ME2 for 20 bucks.

Eh, I guess if I had to choose between Ubi and EA for the company I like to by from least, Ubi would just barely win. But I still hate buying from EA.

Like Antibody says, that's not even the worst part. Your saves are saved on their servers, you have no freedom. Honestly, all Ubisoft is doing now is forcing you to pay $50 for a game that isn't yours, that they can yank away at any time, and that you have absolutely no control over.

At least Steam provides some value-adding to compensate for what you lose, along with still allowing you to play offline (albeit with a limited time).

Wow. I'd buy a few of them but I don't want to download whatever client THQ uses just for one or two games.

Not really a deal, but if you have bought Battlefield Bad Company 2 you get access to the Medal of Honor beta. It's pretty good, a bit slower paced than Call of Duty but very similar.

I'd suggest that the both of you read the FAQ because it looks like that THQ doesn't use any client.

Paradox games are on sale on most of the download services at the moment. Steam, Impulse and D2D at least.

Edit: Ok, a http://www.direct2drive.com/Search.aspx?SearchTerm=paradox%20interactive would be helpful.

So the free weekend of Lead and Gold started. It's pretty fun.

If you want to play, just shoot me a pm over Steam.

I've never really played any strategy games before. Any of these Paradox games on Steam any good?

Yes, depending on what you like they are very good.

Hearts Of Iron 2 Complete is a very good WWII grand strategy game.

Europa Universalis 3 Complete is also very good. The Heir to the Throne expansion pack makes it a fantastic game, I haven't been able to stop playing EU3 since HttT came out in December.

The sale ends sometime on the 27th so hurry up if you decide to get one, just realize they are a bit different than your normal real-time strategy games. They are slower paced and much more in depth.

Thinking about getting Mirror's Edge on Steam. Any opinions on the game, or faults that would be major turn offs? Anyone psychic enough to know that I should wait a few days for a deal? :icecream:

Mirror's Edge isn't a bad game. I had fun with it. Although, it is a bit on the short side.

Don't think it will be on sale anytime soon since it just was at the summer sale.

I think it was on sale a week or two before the summer sale actually? Or was it on sale during the summer sale again? I managed to get it for 3 euros just before the summer sale... It's not a long game, but it's definitely worth 3 euros. :D

It was on sale during the EA week sale, that's when I got it.

I think it's a great game, but it's not going to last you long. Steam says I've played for 6 hours, and I've done everything there is to do in the game.

Thanks for the input =). Wow, only 3 euros? Maybe I will wait a bit and see if a sale happens, I do still have some other things I can play through for the time being.

http://www.amazon.com/Assassins-Creed-2-Pc/dp/B001TOQ8R0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1280206470&sr=8-3-spell Of course, you know, with the DRM included it's about $14.99 too expensive. But if you don't mind not actually having your saves stored on your computer, then by all means, buy it...

I like how there are over 100 1 star reviews because of the DRM. My kind of people. ^_^

There was an article on Yahoo that mentioned people rating down ACII because of the DRM. Makes me happy when justice is served.
