So my american friends can play the game already and we (europe) have to wait 3 days? I dont get this... I already preloaded the whole thing and it only needs to be unlocked so we can also enjoy the game but NO that would be bad.
Give me one good reason why this isnt a worldrelease. Unlock it already this is ridiculous.

Because for some obscure reason, US release dates are normally Tuesday and Europe is Friday. Would love to know the official reason for this however

I was pretty angry at first, but since I can't play during the week, I don't really mind anymore.

They release it on Friday so I can't play it untill monday as I will be off for weekend at friday morning. Meannies!

As far as ive been able to figure out, it has to do with the fact that shops (Those with doors and shelves) Cant get games in EU before thursday. If online site were allowed to sell 3 or 4 days before regular shops, they'd all be out of buisness. God forbid they should try to move with the times

I've got my copy for Brink today i've tried to install it but when steam ask the code of the game and i enter it it says invalid code.
Is this because in Europe the game release on Friday or should i be able to install the game full and just play it on Friday?

Its a marketing thing for your region. Some countries in EU its different. for example Poland releases on Thursdays quite often. But as a majority most EU countries release on Friday due to its proven factors in marketing research. For the US its tuesday, this is for a variety of reasons:

Those are the slow sales days, so by putting out the new releases on those days they can boost their sales numbers on tuesdays to boost the first week sales figures. (Because weekly sale figures are published on Monday. So releasing on Tuesday gives a title a full week to collect sales numbers, and makes it look more successful)
Albums (music) used to be released on Tuesdays to take advantage of two factors. The first is that music industry magazines used to come out on Monday thus creating a buzz that consumers would act on the next day.
Radio stations used to change playlists on Tuesday so while new music was being heard on the radio you could also go to the store and buy the album.


I cannot speak for why EU has its reasonings for friday though. Maybe someone can explain that better.

I do know that EU releases games on Fridays movies on tuesdays. While america is the opposite: Games on tuesdays - Movies on fridays.

nah, the americans can't win from us europeans. That's their problem, ours is that we get put aside again...
PS. releases aren't set on a fixed day in the week in europe.
one day, a hit-game has it's release on monday, others on friday.

@ the ones who bought it online, i got mine at the store at the netherlands. got a text message that i could pick it up today.
And so i did. I now have the hard box at home. but still have to wait 2 more days before i can play/verify cd-key on steam....
so correspondation went wrong too. (cause i asked several delivy companies about it, and all said they are legal to deliver on the 10th of may. in stead of 13th of may).

WEIRD!

Could it maybe have something to do with the 'hard boxs' having enough time to ship out to the whole of the EU so that when the games are actually booted up the EU severes would immediately filled? This would help aviod stereotyping aswell
