Hey guys, sorry for creating a new topic (I svck at searching) but I was wondering about the current steam deal.

I've been playing Oblivion for quite some time now (and loving each and every FCOM-laden minute of it!) and I want to buy it off steam now (in the currently-on-sale $8.49 GOTY Deluxe Edition).

But, before I buy it, I have two questions:
1)- Are there any mod difficulties that may occur with the steam version? I heard that OBSE supports it, but I'm not sure about other mods.
2)- Can I use my files from the retail version and let steam update any differences? Because I really don't have the bandwidth for a complete download.

Buy it! I'd almost recommend buying the complete Quakecon pack for $70 - the only better value you'll find from that as far as gaming is concerned is with The Orange Box, or the Valve Complete Pack.

I have the Steam GOTY versions of Fallout 3, Morrowind and Oblivion and all three work for me 100% perfectly with every mod, including OBSE for Oblivion and MGE/MWSE for Morrowind

The annoying thing though si that OBSE won't work if enable Steam Community in-game is disabled, while MGE/MWSE won't work if it's enabled, so you have to remember to switch or you might be confused as to why it's not working (until you realize what you did and how stupid you are for forgetting lol!)

Also, with Morrowind you need to re-date the BSA files (Morrowind.bsa, Tribunal.bsa and Bloodmoon.bsa) back to 2002/2003 or MGE won't work either. You can find out more about that from the Morrowind forums. Hope this helps and happy gaming!
