Well, looks like one of the reasons to fear using Steam has come to pass. Take a read. Not cool Gabe, not cool at all that we had to find out this way.

Considering the fact that my origin account was hacked last year, I'm kinda concerned that my steam account has been compromised as well. I'm too lazy to check though. Or maybe im too scared..
Apparently this is the email sent to some Steam users, which I haven't gotten so I guess that's a good thing?

Glad I don't save credit card info on my account! Thanks for letting us know Arthmoor.
From Reddit:
"This has already been fixed. Valve was quick to respond on this as soon as they were made aware. /r/steam and /r/games have covered this already."
Apparently it was fixed already?
EDIT: Ninja'd
The article I linked said they fixed it too, but they never told anyone. Just because not everyone is affected doesn't mean we all shouldn't be aware of it so we can change our passwords as a precaution. Had the tech press not caught it, who knows how long the deafening silence would have lasted?
Well it's a darn good thing I don't have any credit cards information on my Steam account (I had to make an account for Skyrim). I hope they make Steam money cards like they do for Nintendo, Xbox and Playstation.
