Steam Reviews

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 4:20 pm

Just wanted to get the community's opinions on the reviews for Fallout 4 given by the Steam community.

Do you think they are right? Wrong? Partially right?

I personally think they hit the nail on the head, discuss.

None of them have hit even 20 hours mark. For a game that lasts much longer than that, this is too little to make any objective review.

So basically you have fans drunk with hype, haters of whom most decided to hate it before FO4 was even announced and people who just wanted to make witty comments.

Fans and witty people (who also give a positive) are most numerous while hater reviews have highest ratings because haters feel more like rating negative reviews than those fans rating positive reviews (as these ones play the game).

You will need to wait a week for people to start giving proper reviews and another week or two to drawn these jokes out.

Pretty much this. Too early to tell for a Fallout game. I think there are some criticisms that can be made at this point as well as some positives. But I think it will take a lot longer until it is fair to give the game a proper verdict.

I'm sorry but you don't need to put 40 hours in a game to see if it's good or not, even if it's a Betheseda game.I played more than 30h and i realised like everyone else that this is not a good game ,not when you compare it with Fallout 3 or New Vegas.

Well personally i am 10 hours in and i feel that i have experienced a lot of the core mechanics to start making conjuring up my views on the game. The lack of a Karma system and skill points is already making me quite uneasy.

20 hours is more than enough time to form an opinion.

So far I would give it a 8.5

Mostly good only a few negatives

What I don't like (I'll list these since there are less of them)

The UI is dreadful, too large too intrusive. Did not take PC into account at all when designing. Perfect for consoles not for me

The prologue was too fast, lack of early game character progression, I hated how fast the vault section was. Smallest vault in FO history

The home building is a little bare bones, though that might be because I have not unlocked better options yet (hoping)

Lack of 'true" survival mode

No weapon repair system

Animations at time are very poor

Lip sych is bad

It might seem I have many issues but like I said there are many other things I love about the game

I can't really disagree with any of that, I might have knocked off a bit more for the dogs dinner of a UI, SkyUI was popular for a reason but that reason seems to have passed the developers by.

It was very positive yesterday.. Its going down slowly. They have to patch the game and make it work like it should and the ratings should go up again. Until then its a slow free fall. IMO
