Steam version of Crysis not running on FX 8150

Post » Tue Nov 29, 2011 6:46 am

My computer was running fine including Crysis. Yesterday I installed my new FX 8150. I already had the latest graphics drivers and the latest BIOS. Nothing in my PC changed except the CPU. I open Steam and try to run Crysis and the game crashes immediately at a black screen. I try changing my NVidia driver settings, disabling SLI, deleting my Crysis settings/saves, and reinstalling the entire game from Steam and nothing works. I googled the issue but I don't think anything has been posted yet. I even tried some startup command to force it to run in DX9 mode or 32bit mode, nothing is working.

Is anyone else out there running an FX 8150 and playing Crysis?

Any feedback would be helpful. Thank You

Had this happening lately. What I did is to uninstall Crysis and re-install it without patches (1.0).

Applying the 1.2 patch will fix many things, and bring worse ones.
