Steam version ignoring new textures/meshes/sound

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 1:21 pm

So I installed a bunch of mods for the Steam version of Oblivion, and the game just seems to be ignoring the textures, meshes, and sound. I've been using mods for this game for years, so I know I have it all in the right place. So why is Oblivion still using all the stock textures/meshes/sound?

I tried archive invalidation invalidated, but no change...

Thanks guys.

I have a user of one of my mods reporting a similar issue. I'm not using the Steam version myself, so I'm just guessing here, but I think to remember you need to alter the file date of the BSAs (or the files in there?) so it's older than any file tried to be used as a replacement. Archive Invalidation or not, the game will always prefer the newer file date.

Yeah, use a file date changer, or use OBMMs "Reset BSA Timestamps" (in the archive invalidation menu) to fix the timestamps. They should be ca. January 2006

Common problem.
