Steam versus Nexus

M'aiq wonders for PC players what do you prefer using?

M'aiq uses both Steam and Nexus the same. ;)

I use both. I was too lazy to use Nexus for a while and used Steam, but wanted Frostfall, so I got SKSE and Nexus Mod Manager. All my mods come from the Nexus now. I haven't gotten rid of my Steam mods and replaced them with Nexus versions, too lazy. I've got about twenty Nexus mods and forty Steam ones.

To me the Nexus mods websites win because they have thousands of more mods exclusively than Steam Workshop does and Steam Workshop will never get most of those mods.

I seen a lot of PC gamers who are modders and PC gamers who are modders and programmers say that they will release mods on the Nexus mods websites exclusively only and not on Steam Workshop because of a bunch of reasons.

I've only ever used NMM. It just seems more convenient to me.

That, and I have yet to find a Steam-only mod that I want.

Yep. I feel the same way.

For me downloading mods manually by hand from the Nexus mods websites and installing the mods manually by hand as well as using Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) feels more convenient for me to use.

I still have not used Steam Workshop to this day today at all.

can't beat the ease of using NMM. I have only used steam twice for mods. One to remove the blur from killcams and the other blood on the screen. The other 187 active mods are all from Nexus.

Mostly Nexus (and some other places ). Once in a while i hear of something worthwhile in the workshop and go grab it, but since it's such a hassle to install from there i don't usually go looking for stuff there.

"Hassle" as in subscribe, launch the launcher to download them, find the files from Data folder, zip them, move to Bash Installers, unsubscribe. As opposed to download, reorder files and folders if needed, move to Bash Installers.
