This isn't really a troubleshooting area for FCOM problems as I'm certain Blade of Mercy would agree.

I wasn't talking about problems with FCOM, I was talking about problems with the mods found in my load order above. They are mostly the same mods Blade of Mercy uses, that's why I posted here. And when these mods are working without CTD's, then I'm going to turn on FCOM fully.

Upgrade to EnhancedWeather 1.4

Where is you MMMforFrans.esp that is needed , you gotta have this, else it will not work right..

I had only turned on the MMM Esm, I forgot to turn it off. But I wasn't using MMM at the moment that I was testing. Does the MMM esm conflict with Frans, even while I don't use any esp's?

I was looking at your load order in which you have both frans and mmm.esm activated both them make changes to samething,

you need the MMMforFrans.esp if you going to use them to make sure compatiblity between the two work. And The esp have the vanilla scripts, quest, etc, all this stuff is needed to ensure game works right..

Remove Frans and MMM and start a new game without those and see if problems persist

This is a basic reproduction of what I've got running for Frans and Mart's, in load order:

Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Items Mod.esm
Francesco's Optional New Items Add-On.esm
Mart's Monster Mod.esm

(additional Fran esps, here)
(additional Mart esps, here, starting out with Mart's Monster Mod for Fran.esp)

So you keep the esms going for both, but put any of the Frans esps next, followed by Marts--with the basic Marts Monster Mod for Fran first.

Also just to clarify. This is my 3rd attempt at getting a CTD free Oblivion. I always prior to this would just get clumsy and download a few mods that I assumed wouldn't cause any trouble (aka Amazing Jump,) anything like that. Always ended up with CTD's and it has become unbearable as of late. So, I'm following the OP literally step by step. I had my own version of the install order for FCOM, but I guess it doesn't matter the order too much just to make sure that MMM is last.

So when the OP means to install the omods. He means actually install them not just create them right?

I am wondering because when you say to activate each .esm and .esp one by one, you will have everything installed via OBMM already, with a blue square, correct? (I am going to make ALL the mods, every single texture replacer, everything into an OMOD this go to help avoid issues,) And in my case I would next go into Wrye Bash (I prefer its GUI) and disable all my .esm's and .esp's except for Oblivion.esm. THEN, Oblivion.esm enabled obviously, I would enable the next .esm in line after running BOSS, load my game, save in a (NEW?) slot, quit. Enable the next .esm in line, load, save, quit and so on and so on. Or am I missing something?

Is it safe to enable all of FCOM at first (excluding the expanded load order I guess) and go from there?

Sorry, I just need some clarification, what exactly is the point of enabling each .esp/.esm ONE by ONE. That is going to take years with 200+ mods.

EDIT: Quick answer if possible, not taking any chances with this install. Both OOO and Frans ask if you want to use Living Economy. I have installed Frans Living Economy in the 4.5b package and now OOO is asking me if I want to install Living Economy as well. In previous installs I believe I answered Yes to both, could that have caused problems?

EDIT2: I decided to click no for OOO's Living Economy after seeing that there is a 3.7 version which supports SI merchants as well. I still opted in for Living Economy with Frans 4.5b. Safe to uninstall Frans 4.5b and re-install without the Living Economy options or will I risk CTD's?

All I've installed so far is (in order): Oblivion, Shivering Isles, Shivering Isles 1.2*** (latest) patch, Frans 4.5b, OOO 1.33 Complete. I would say its safe to uninstall Frans 4.5b and re-install with no Living Economy and just use the standalone version of it. But please, clarification from the CTD-free masters! :shifty:

Yeah, they were purged by FileFront.
Install order has altered slightly due to the latest MMM 3.7b3 release, so it's now important for compatibility reason with the BSA the order in which some mods are installed.
Recommended:

Unofficial Oblivion Patch
Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch(if applicable)
DLC's + Patches (if applicable)
Francesco's 4.5
OOO version 1.33 full patched to OOO 1.34 beta5
Oblivion WarCry patched to 1.085b
Bob's Armory 1.1
Armamentarium and Armamentarium Artifacts(optional)
Martigen's Monster Mod 3.7b3
COBL(optional)
COBL Races (optional)
FCOM 9.9 beta + supported add-ons (add-ons optional)
Body Replacement mods (Roberts, Exnem. EVE etc)(optional)
Texture replacers (optional)

To complete FCOM, install the UFCOM files, overwriting where prompted.
If you've already completed the main install that's fine, but it's vital that if using COBL you do re-install it after MMM .

As for turning on each mod individually I'd suggest having a look at post #45.
You may feel it's a waste of time although I do guarantee if you switch them all on in unison your almost certain to run into some serious, and in some cases fatal flaws which will result in a complete re-installment of your game plus mods.

LOL, well yes your damn right I want this to be my third and final install of Oblivion CTD-free. Nice and smooth and way it should be on this supercomputer I have under my belt.

The order you have there, is EXACTLY the way I installed it the 2nd go around. I was very careful to do it like that. I even have it all laid out in folders step by step with the files pre-extracted so I can just copy and paste it into my Oblivion folder. Doing it all from scratch this time though to make sure it all goes smoothly.

I have already started following the OP's steps. I hope installing the DLC + patches AFTER FCOM is alright as the OP's order differs a bit from yours.

This is all I ask for, if I follow the OP's steps to the note I will get a CTD free game. :D Also doing the .esp/.esm one by one, and all precautions said on this thread i've read through just about all of it.

Will I be OK using the OP's steps for CTD free, as I see yours is a bit different (yours is actually what I followed the 2nd time) and it probably worked flawlessly but I threw a ton more mods on top causing the CTD's and instability not to mention enabling them ALL at the same time, did not know about that prior to reading this thread. Browsing mods is addicting I sware.

Yours and his are fairly similar actually. If he was successful adding the DLC after FCOM then it will (should) work for me as well. First time I did the DLC right after Shivering isles + SI patch. I can't think it would make a huge difference.

Anybody know where you can find the optimized 1.34 beta 5 meshes for OOO? Or maybe someone could upload them? I can always run it through PYFFI myself, downloaded that automated PYFFI util off tesnexus which should make it a bit easier. Seems relatively fail-proof.

If you've somehow managed to aquire a copy of 1.33 PYFFI'd, then 1.34 will take seconds to do if you feel it necessary. It only houses around two dozen meshes.

Say when I had already made it to level 2, and I wanted to PYFFI the meshes it wouldn't cause any unwanted issues would it?

I'm trying to figure out what exactly causes CTD. Besides known troublesome mods such as City Life. That mod still seemed to be giving me trouble with Better Cities even using the compatibility patch included with the BC install. This is my previous load order that warranted a CTD at any time. Many times near cities as well as total lock-ups (which actually happened just a few ago when I loaded up Oblivion, a lockup that is,) Could very well be due to my i7-920 being OCed to 4ghz.

My CTD/lock-up load order. Stable when in the wilderness, move too quickly however and Lock up. May very well be due to me adding 10s of mods at a time, say 5 mods with .esp's and also texture mods. Had just about every texture replaced in my previous load order. Still can't really figure out what was causing the CTD's so often. Just gotta take it slow this time, too frustrating to CTD all the time, especially with the computer I have it laughs at Oblivion w/ every graphical mod available.

EDIT: Hmm... thought these turned into a scrollable window?

News to me. I've been running it for quite a while without any related crashes. Of course, I also clean all my ESPs, so that may have something to do with it. Or not.

No, it should not matter at all when you pyffie your meshes. I did not pyffie mine at the very beginning, only did that when I had a game already under way and there were no problems.

Note that there is PyFFie version 2.1 released very recently which is even better than 2.0.5. I recommend reading up the thread if you have not done so already.

My keyboard/mouse will freeze up after being in-game for about 5 minutes. Everything else will keep moving, a monster will keep attacking me, an npc will keep talking but I can't do anything. I am forced to ctrl-alt-delete. What the hell?!

This never happened to me on my old install. Happened after re-install.

Anyone?

Weird!? What version of windows are you running again? Did you by chance do any new installation for mouse/keyboard drivers? If you have Windows 7 or Vista, there could be a chance that an automatic update installed mouse/keyboard drivers. I installed a mouse driver that was suggested by Windows 7 recently, and ever since then my mouse and keyboard takes much longer to respond when I reach my login screen after a reboot or fresh boot. Just a thought...

Very. I can't believe this is happening right now. So many hours wasted on getting Oblivion to run! Now, a weird mouse/keyboard problem. I have read elsewhere that codecs could be the issue, so I downloaded the K-lite codec pack, but it was ALL working just fine last night!

I ran O&O Defrag last night, but I will not even think about saying that is the cause. Not possible. I will try to re-install my mouse/keyboard drivers I suppose.

I am using Windows 7 x64

EDIT: Some demon is sabotaging my every attempt at playing Oblivion! Gaaaahhh. This issue makes absolutely no sense to me, nothing changed but a re-install and kill me now if I have to re-install again.

You can see all that I tried to get the mouse and keyboard working again. Got the keyboard and mouse working, but ran into another very strange and entirely unexplainable problem. There is absolutely no logical explanation for what happened, nothing changed, there are no variables to go off of. It just showed up out of the middle of nowhere. The music being enabled and using a mouse and keyboard at the same time apparently don't mix on my latest Oblivion install. Worked just fine before, and, well, now there is no music. I have tried EVERYTHING, I encourage you to take a look here for all that was tried. Any ideas drop me a lead, but I can't think of anything else. Sorry for getting off topic past few posts. Solved that issue, still no music but i'll live with it. That's what the sound mods are for.

I have a couple questions that i've always wondered about under the log that BOSS creates after it re-orders. Seems like a good place to ask if you don't mind. I'll just number it to make it easy.

1. DLCSpellTomes - Unofficial Patch.esp
. Note: Not compatible with 'CDM-CGO Compatibility plugins'. -----------> What exactly are CDM-CGO Compatibility plugins?

2. OK to use FCOM_LessReaversInGates.esp with Mart's Monster Mod - Less Reavers.esp . Even recommended to use these at all? Afraid of getting 1 shotted, they fun to encounter?

3. ShiveringIsleTravellers.esp
. Note: Use of 'TamrielTravellersItemsNPC.esp', 'TamrielTravellersItemsUnscaled.esp', or 'TamrielTravellersItemsVendors.esp' will remove SI items for sale. -----> I'm using TamrielTravellersItemsNPC, this is what it does, "Tamriel Travellers Items NPC's

Isn't that an important aspect for FCOM? I don't really want to get rid of the SI travellers. 4. "Francesco's 10 days respawn time - 1-20 day lenght rescale.esp" -----> this esp mentions that it changes respawn time to 10 days? Is that for creature respawns? I don't really need the .esp for the "length rescale" as I can set the timescale in-game. Needed or no?

If you don't know about it my best guess is you shouldn't worry about it :P. Googled it and it looks like CGO stands for Character Generation Overhaul.

I may be wrong so don't take my word for it but you should use ItemsNPC as this way they will sell all the mods(warcry, bob's, OOO, Fran, MMM) items. But they won't sell SI items(no way to get both as indicated in the readme).

4. "Francesco's 10 days respawn time - 1-20 day lenght rescale.esp" -----> this esp mentions that it changes respawn time to 10 days? Is that for creature respawns? I don't really need the .esp for the "length rescale" as I can set the timescale in-game. Needed or no?

Yes that's the creature respawn rate. And the timescale too. You shouldn't use those.
Wrye Bash has a tweak to change the respawn time in the bash patch. And yes you can set the timescale in-game so no need of a mod for it.

Really you'd be better posting general questions about FCOM in it's Official thread as most of the experienced users that can answer your queries will be well past reading this thread and quite probably miss it.
The question on Reavers - it's fine to use both as one effects the Oblivion realm, the other the game world as a whole.
As for TT, it's a mod I've never used, so again the best place is the home thread.
I'd advise using FCOM default (3 game days) for your re-spawn. Set the time-scale via the console and save yourself a plug-in.

TES4Edit doesnt save, after I applied the filter to the UOP,

it found about 90.000 for identical to master and undelete and disabled references each.

TES4Edit is run with admin rights on windows 7, only some files seem to be saved though.

sorry, I have read the wrong entry, its says 90.000 processed, 0 removed, seems i already have cleaned the mod. :facepalm:

2. OK to use FCOM_LessReaversInGates.esp with Mart's Monster Mod - Less Reavers.esp . Even recommended to use these at all? Afraid of getting 1 shotted, they fun to encounter?


They are quite cool. The "issue" is that you can face a dozen of them at the same time, which can be rather annoying, so the less reavers plugins deal with that.

They are not ghostly warriors - and you won't face them before Lvl 20. Perhaps you're thinking of OOO's spectrals? Reavers are (loosely) based on the ones in Serenity and have unique armors/weapons.
