This guide as convinced me to redo everything after just having finished yesterday. :P

I'm experiencing some issues, however, and I like what you've done here with your mod choices and compatibility. Will this require Wrye Bash, or will I be able to do everything with OBMM? I'm still trying to figure out Wryes' tools.

That is the OMOD installer. Do you use OBMM? You should use OBMM or BAIN to install FCOM. Many users would make even more mistakes installing the thing without the OMOD installers. BAIN does not have "official" FCOM installation support, closer to doing the thing manually, in terms of how much attention you have to pay to ReadMes. OMOD installers provide a lot more guidance. You still have to read the docs though...

If you are using mods that conflict with it, you may have to figure out which those are yourself. However, if you test as you add mods (very slowly) as prescribed by this guide, you would hopefully figure that out in the process.

It's not so much compatibility issues with FCOM, as it is me having [censored] up a few settings and such. I just did a few things wrong because I was careless and rushed, as I know never to do with an installation of FCOM, now. :P

I think I'll follow the guide, along with that compatibility link. When I'm done, I'll get to work figuring out the ins and outs of Wrye Bash.

Hello everyone.
I've just recently returned to my old Oblivion addiction and figured I'd give FCOM a try. I followed the OPs instructions (to a point. I took liberties with stuff I didn't want in the game) and had the game running at step 21. After continuing on to step 50, my game now crashes right after the main loading screen, right before the menu to load the game (this is while attempting the steps on TESIV:POSItive for the first run through). It will not get to that starting menu whether all the mods are loaded or only the Oblivion.esm is loaded.

Did I miss something? The game was working after FCOM, just not after the bonus stuff. I do have a zipped Oblivion folder backup of the FCOM load to work with should I have to revert back, but I'd like to not. If someone could have a gander and maybe see something I'm missing, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I took it out after experiencing a number of crashes...guess it is staying out... (If only you could get DR's mounted combat without the gore...)


Likewise on both accounts (had to uninstall and gore).

I wish I could get it rolling with the big bad behemoth of a game I've finally got working almost flawlessly.

Can't you just set the chance of decapitation etc. so low that it never will happen? Was a while ago I used DR 5 (still waiting for 6) - but IIRC you can change this. :unsure:

Thanks for the Runeskulls note. I had used the auto-loader, and I guess it missed this. I took your advise on the EW esp. Saving 1 slot is always important.

I checked the BSAs and everything looks good as far as I can tell. "FCOM_Convergence_FraNewItems.bsa" and "FCOM_Convergence - MMM" Correct?

Otherwise, I can't for the life of me figure out what is wrong...Could there be too many things in the Data folder? I have 355 bsa + esm + esp. 317 are esps alone...

Can't find anything in the readme when checking, but I'm pretty sure you can change the chance via console commands - I think I lowered the chance of decapitation, for example. But never mind this idea as I can't remember any particulars - and have no idea about which features you can access the chance of like that. And as I'm not using DR5 I can't check it either.

I already merged the Unofficail DLC patches with their respective DLC's except one which is already marked as fully mergeable into Bashed Patch. The "Armures Supplementaires" 1 & 2 esps are armour mods I merged via TES4GECKO because it is said to be quite safe to merge them, as they are not linked to a quest. I did two packs because between them is Oonas Outfitters with creates a armour and weapons shop in the Imperial Isle, so I thought it was better not to merge it. Maybe I could have merged the armour contained in "Armures Supplementaires" 1 & 2 in a single mod, but I was afraid to do so as they were separated in my BOSS-corrected load order by the Oonas Outfitters mod.

I have to merge mods because I'd like to activate the following mods:

Leviathan Soulgems is integrated into OOIO already so IMO you can get rid of it.
Streamline must NOT be merged, the rest of your mods in this list I've never played and cannot give advice about them.

Oh, and I keep my Get Wet saparate.

Okay...I'm having a bit of a problem. I've followed this guide as closely as I could, but I'm having a CTD whenever I load a save or try to start a new file. I haven't quite finished with the guide yet, but I don't want to do more working only to find that I need to restart. I'm probably missing something painfully obvious..

Update:



Just deactivated all mods, including SI and official DLC. I STILL get this crash...any ideas?


EDIT: Nevermind, problem sorted. I'll finish with the guide and see how things go. My framerates are horrific in cities, though, and if I even try to use RAEVWD my game runs at 10fps no matter where I am, which is interesting, considering my hardware. (Crysis runs fine at high...)

I managed to "fix" this by using COBL's race package, but obviously that doesn't provide the stat changes RBP provides.


On a brighter note, I now have all mods I want working fine.

Missing or not passed through Archive Invalidation textures. You should see some of my screenshots on the subject :D
I sugggest you run OBMM Archive invalidation button or... you know... reinstall? No, don't hit me, I didn't do it, I just mention a solution, you know! And stop growlin'! You can't bite me, it isn't polite!
So, get crackin'! :D

After all this?! Absolutely not. :P

I just ran Archive Invalidation again, and it seemed to work, more or less. The only screwed up races are the daedra seducer and the sea elf. This is what I get for taking something like this on at 4 am.


EDIT: Oookay. After taking a stroll through the Market District, I need a reinstillation. Bad. As you've said so many times, I will RTFM...twice.
