Stereotype or not: Kids are evil?

Post » Sat Jan 25, 2014 4:38 pm

In one of my other threads I notice a lot hate and terrible stories about people learning experience, and it got me thinking is the belief that kids/teenagers are emotionless monsters that cause young people to kill themselves or lower there confidence to mere dirt really a common belief among people or is it just that young age kids/teenagers just don't the capacity of compassion and understanding one another to truly stop the bullying. What do you guys think?

Although the first choice was tempting to click, just the how there's bad kids there's also good ones too. A lot of these bad kids are the result of bad parenting either by overly pampering, abuse at home or not proper discipline. Children are like puppies if you don't teach them properly and or lack proper discipline they can grow up to a real nuance.

Really both because I found that kids can be easy because they no any better at times but bullying leads into middle school and then it leads into high school and at high school we have teenagers committing suicide due to bullying.

I'm in high school right now and I won't say their evil, but rather sociopathic. Behind their "innocent" child mask is a manipulative, violent, cruel and sadistic person. I wouldn't be surprised at one or two kids like that are like that, but the number of people in my school who show sociopath attitudes is really strange, hell I'm kind of guilty of it too. But one thing I noticed. People used say all the time bullies did it because of personal issues or insecurities, but I'm calling bs on that. The ones at my school do it because they get pleasure out of making others feel bad, it gets them attention and love from the others.

Small children don't know good or evil, they must be taught. Teens are a product o their childhood

Sadly they're the ones who get the deer in headlights look when the person they bullied snaps and "turns the tides" if you know what I mean.

Everyone is capable of doing very bad things.

Kids are just brats.

Don't studies show children who are victims of [censored] and molestation or abuse are more inclined to have an "at risk" teenagehood?

Teenagers are not Evil, they are:

Self Absorbed
Convinced that they know everything
Feel they are invincible
Do not know what they can't do
Are not able to grasp the consequences of their actions before they act.

None of these things are evil. They are just irritating to us old farts. Mostly because we used to be this way too, and we miss it.

Evil? No. They just lack the capacity of fully understanding the consequence of their actions.

So true :lmao:

There are no good or evil people, just people. Each of them capable of being a saint and a monster.

Children are the embodiment of evil. I know I was. "Children" being anyone who's more than five years younger than me.

As a teenager, I've gotta say, this is it pretty much. I'm so deep in the knowing everything part that I know I don't know everything I think I know.

Children, on the other hand, are innocent in the purest sense. They are unaware of morality.

Children are no more or less evil than advlts, they just have less impulse control.

Children are not evil, they just literally lack the self-restraint and the ability to gauge right from wrong. This has to be taught to them by their parents.

Really, if a child is acting like a brat, we should be looking to the idiot parents who raised that child to be that way.

Teens face an extra hurdle because they're stuck between advlthood and childhood. They want to be free and independent, but there are things they just don't know yet and it's really an irritating period in one's life.

But evil? They're no better or worse than us. Remember, we were once children ourselves many years ago.

Generally speaking I don't think that kids are evil, but I think that a mixture of environmental factors, lack of life experience, and undeveloped brains make them prone to comitting foolish and rude acts on impulse. Kids aren't always good at contemplating the consequences of their actions and how it affects others around them, so a lot of the things they do might seem heartless and evil, but in the end they're (hopefully) just harmless kids that'll grow out of it once they learn from their actions.

A child who calls another child fat and smelly isn't evil if he/she isn't even capable of understanding the concept of morality or the consequence of the statement *he just made. The point is that their ignorance often leads them to do things that are rude without them knowing it themselves, and that's not "evil." It's a silly example but it applies to a lot of childish actions.

I was pretty bad. Fighting people, not listening to teachers. I've straightened out for the most part.

I've never heard of this stereotype. Insecure and selfish people tend to be mean, and many teenagers haven't grown out of the insecurity and selfishness of childhood, so I suppose "mean" might work, but I've never heard of teens being thought of as "evil."

And I would say that each person who has done a monstrous thing in his mind is depraved and thus I declare all humanity totally and utterly depraved.

That would be evil.

Well, the fact that I believe in the existence of evil should tell you that I don't agree with that. Regardless, humans don't have self-control of their heart at the best of times. Totally depraved and self-seeking.
