Stiff Competition In November : V - Skyrim

No games coming out this year will be more important to me than Skyrim. I'm interested in The Witcher 2 but I have to restart and finish the first game first, which I have on hold now. Also want Rage but once I get my mits on Skyrim nothing else is going to matter for a very long time. Right now I'm mainly playing and modding Oblivion and doing some Doom 2 mapping while waiting for the release of teh Skyrim.

Skyrim and Battlefield 3. Two games I will buy. The only two games this year that I'm looking forward to. The same month.

Honestly I may get Battlefield 3 first and wait a short while before getting Skyrim. I'd like any major game breaking bugs to be fixed.

Who the [censored] am I kidding? I'll just buy both damn games.

Same here , BF3 6 day before MW3 , good marketing EA , we all know IW rush it 1 game a year with the same engine an no innovation

skyrim is the only game im spending money on in november.

Wow i see no one mentioned Dark Souls? which in my opinion will be better than Skyrim and will be out in mid October i believe...it will probably be game of the year like Demon Souls was.

So maybe Dark Souls, Guild Wars 2, and possibly The Witcher 2.

Uncharted 3 is the third installment of the critically acclaimed Uncharted series. Uncharted 2 was 2009 GotY.

MW3 is Modern Warfare 3. Franchise holds many sales records. Unfortunately.

AC Revelations is the next installment in Assassins Creed. I don't care for this played out tired franchise so i'll stop there.

I don't really think this is much of a competition. I mean, the games are all quite different and offer very different kinds of game experiences, so they target different kind of gamers. I don't think there are that many people who are interested in several of those games.

If a rap album and a heavy metal album are released the same week, would the rap fan buy the heavy metal album?

This. I wouldn't worry about it. If people really want the game they're going to get it regardless. TES games in particular are immortal like that. A game series like COD quickly becomes obsolete with each installment replacing it's predecessor.

I will be getting Uncharted 3 and Skyrim from that list, though Uncharted 3 may have to wait, not because of Skyrim but because Twisted Metal will be released the month before.

As people have said you can expect stiff competition in those months, but the increase in over-all sales can more then make up for it, I imagine, especially for an established franchise.

I looked up Uncharted. It doesn't look like a bad game, but it's only for PS3.

Uncharted is pretty sweet. Minecraft is how I pass the time waiting for skyrim. Never played the Mass Effect series.

All of these are fairly good games (Only speaking of what I have heard for others on Mass effect), but what it all comes down to is the fact that I have been waiting for skyrim since three months into oblivion. I am ready to expand my elder scrolls adventures.

Wow, actually looks really good from the couple of videos I just watched.
Huge environments, Hopefully 100% free roaming, meaning you can pick what you do next.
Lots of Huge Boss's, really like this!

Uncharted 3 = Not getting it on release
Skyrim = Collectors Edition right here
MW3 = Getting it
Battlefield 3 = Limited Edition
Minecraft = Gets boring after a week or two so no I am not getting it.

This seems to me to be very smart, as Beth doesnt want to give away to much info on the PC specs, I will wait and see as well.
Hopefully they can post some good info/video, PC in game play, at E3 that will change a few minds on this forum about the PC version.

Pete said they won't be showing the PC version at E3. He said it'll be a little longer for that.

11.11.11 is a Friday. Bethesda has decided to break from the mainstream of when media content such as movies, music, and games are released which is generally on Tuesdays of each week. They know their fans will want to take off work to play this game and what better day to take off than a Friday leading into the weekend.

Uncharted 3 is launching 11.1.11, MW3 was just leaked and it's releasing 11.8.11 the same week as Skyrim, Minecraft on 11.11.11 same say as Skyrim, and AC: Revelations is slated for November as well.

I'll only be getting Skyrim, but MW3 releasing that Tuesday with Skyrim on Friday troubles me. I wonder if Gamestop has ever had 2 midnight launches in the same week?

You forgot BF3 which is the most to worry about besides MW3, they are all different, all the Skyrim fans will not skip out on Skyrim. As for mincraft.....LOL hahahahahaha :rofl:

Not in the least.
I want PC game play footage, and maybe some answers to questions on the forums here, about what they plan on doing different for the PC folks who have paid good money to run better games then consoles.
Simple enough for them to do, if they want my business.
Not like they dont have lots of time to impress.
I have faith they will give us something.
