Is FO:NV still buggy?

Post » Thu Feb 11, 2010 11:46 pm

i took a very long break from this game and haven't looked back at it until recently.

from what I've been finding in searches, it seems that some people were claiming a patch to fix the save corrupt glitch and other game breaking bugs WAS coming out, but yet at the same time i find recent search results of people with this problem (some on this very forum).

so what's the deal? are these bugs still prevalent, or are the people encountering the glitches not up to date with the new patch? thanks..

hmm. i bought fo:nv when it first came out, and going into a certain vault or doing the mission come fly with me would corrupt a saved file, leaving a message saying the DLC could not be found.
i quit about one month or less after release and haven't played since.
i just really want to know if my saved files and chunks of the world will be locked out to me before i decide to put more time into this game.. or if i should just trade it in and fire up FO1/2/3 instead.

Only the reloading glitch was enlarge for some, but it most bugs are fixed. However, you would still encounter some if you ain't familiar how to do things in the old fashion way......

I never had a great number of problems with the game when it was first released, some inopportune freezes that required a shutdown and reload. Since the patch there have been few problems, so it's fine. :)

I've beaten the game once and I'm about 30 or so hours into a new game and have only experienced one quest breaking bug (though there is a workaround with a speech challenge but I didn't have my speech skill up). This is without any patches.

The most major bug for me: When I play and I'm really sleepy (and probably shouldn't be playing), and I'm sneaking and I have my weapon drawn but can't see it because of a graphical glitch, and accidentally press the fire button to pull out my weapon (that's already drawn) and fire a shot off instead and it scares the [censored] out of me just as I'm about to fall asleep.

Never fails happens all the time

At the time of this post the game is still buggy. I still am not able to complete "I put a spell on you" without the tram exploding. Most times it just drives off and explodes.
I really hope the bums at Bethesda/Obsidian are doing something to fix these bugs but I have a feeling I've just been ripped off.

You think that's bad? I can't put an explosive in someones pocket without it exploding and the game freezing. Then again it may be because i haven't cleaned out my PS3 in forever and it's in a confined space.....

On PC I still get alot of freezes and random CTDs. During the DM DLC the game just likes to quit to desktop without any sort of error message when changing cells. Almost like the game is using the "qqq" console command on it's own.

Long as your spamming quicksave every few seconds it's not too bad...Still it's bad form to require such things from the end user to play a game.

The PS3 version is still a complete joke. Dont know what the PC or 360 versions are like but ive seen a lot of complaints on the forums. Its easily the buggiest game ive played

New Vegas still has it's moments where it has bugs and it still freezes but it still plays well (I have the 360 version, Installed to HDD, and no patch). I haven't had a freeze in a while and the last time I beat the game I did it in 40 hours and only had 3 freezes 2 of them were my fault. Definitely the most bugs I've seen in a game in a while although DA2 takes the cake as that games in even worse shape.

No, never played those games. Can only judge it on the games ive played.
How bad are DA 2 and Fable lll? i cant imagine any game being much worse than NV. If they are then why are games like these being released. Something has to be done about this. They are selling us a faulty product. surely thats not legal??

I use PS3, i have nearly no bugs, the most i have ever had is a slight framerate drop during certain tenuous events and a single geckos getting stuck in a rock. Compare this to my experience with FO3... I tried to leave 101 and got shot into the air and died on impact.

As I was reading this thread I thought to myself "I have yet to encounter a bug in NV." Today the game crashed twice and I got the V.A.T.S crazy fingers bug lol. :brokencomputer: I suppose that's good though. Once out of about 30 hours of gameplay so far.

Da 2 can be blamed on EA pushing Bioware for a fast release. Not sure about Fable 3 or Fallout: NV excuses though but with an open sandbox game like Fallout or The Elder Scrolls, I tend to cut them some slack.

For me it seems like the freezing has actually increased.
So for me, it's getting buggier.

The game is still as buggy as hell! It starts off OK but the more you play it, the more crashes n freezes you get. my game freezes roughly every 30 mins or so. PS3
Go and buy mass effect 2
