STILL no Stone of Barenziah. Dear God. Someone Help! Need 1

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 6:26 am

Okay. I only need ONE more bloody stone of barenziah. I thought the new patch (1.4) would fix this. (playing on xbox 360 btw.) I rode a horse magically up the wall into the thalmor embassy, not in there. Went to reeking cave, thought it MAY be there after i downloaded the patch.....not there. I got the one in fellglow keep so, that counts out that glitch. I have been to every single place that wiki said to go......and I have been to each of these places 4 times each (even counting Calixto's house of curiosities). NOT AN EXAGGERATION.......and still none to be found. I have searched every floor in every room.....behind every dresser/table......under every enchanting table (in case my magic knocked one of them somewhere). STILL NO WHERE! I hate having them all in my inventory, I hate having an unfinished quest, I hate being ONE DAMN stone away from completing this quest! Anyone having this problem? Did the quest just not count one of my stones? Please help!

Here's help:

google.com

the UESP

The Elder Scrolls Wiki

^^^^ Comprehensive lists about the location of the stones can be found via those resources.

Otherwise, never heard of or encountered this specific glitch before. *shrug*

Yes, i did all that a while ago. I went to every location numerous times to be sure that i didn't miss one. There are no stones left anywhere. I know there is a glitch where one doesn't appear in Fellglow Keep but, I did pick one up from there. So, I have collected them all(?) yet, apparently still missing one. Frustrating.

Do you have an idea which of the locations are the most likely you haven't grabbed one of the stones before?

Ha. No. I even went to the extent to print out the list and went back to each place 2 extra times to make sure. Searched everywhere in each room that they say the stone would be in in case I knocked one of them off a table. I have been playing for over 120 hours and have beaten the main quest. I started the No Stone Unturned quest ages ago so I made SURE a quadruple checked all the places. Annoys me to still have this quest lingering there.

Did you follow the instructions to create a new save and then reset the system after the patch. Sometimes things take a little while to change.

I would check Reeking Cave again:

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:No_Stone_Unturned

Cave is located in cliff on shoreline under http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Thalmor_Embassy. Next to skeleton at the back of cave. May replace the one in http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Thalmor_Embassy if the quest is completed without getting the gem (see location 22).

According to uesp the Pinewatch gem can also glitch, so if that happened you might be out of luck

Pinewatch the Bandit Sanctuary was one of the last stones that I picked up. A couple weeks ago. Go that one, too.

I have since been back to Reeking Cave "just in case" a couple times. There isn't one there.

Just asking, do you think it's safe to assume if there is NO stone in Reeking Cave, that the Thalmor stone didn't disappear from the inventory in the first place?

I wasn't keeping track of inventory amounts v. where I found stones, so I went back to Reeking Cave also "just in case." Conjurer but no stone.

(Next playthrough, I'm using those handy checklists in the guide.)

Try this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHOe1guoz_0
This way you can tell if you've gotten the one in that dungeon or not.

If you didn't grab the one inside the Thalmor Embassy during the quest and you can't get back inside (unless youre on the PC) then the stone should be inside the Reeking Cave, underneath the ledge that you dropped down from when exiting the Thalmor Embassy during that particular quest.

I'm currently at 23/24 and also have been to all the places multiple times. I'm pretty sure I got the one in the embassy (using the whirlwind sprint) and as I type I'm in the reeking cave. No gem in there. :(

If you are on the PC then know there is a mod that creates quest markers for all those stones.

Link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=10916

The mod's description also makes notes regarding people who have found 23 of 24. Might be worth reading it.

I'm in the same situation, also playing on the 360 and at 23/24 stones. Is there another way to get the missing stone on the console? I'm starting to think after checking all the locations several times that Sheogorath hid that last stone in the Jarl's backside.
