Don't care.
In my country this rating doesn't play significant role anyway.

edit: completely agree with MythicalCreatures777.

Sorry we use numbers in my country. But yeah I know M is like 18+ or something. A lot of blood and violence, in addition to the finishing moves, in addition to marriage. It's at least 16+ because of those things.

Some people may say that marriage is some kind of finishing move, but...

I don't care about ratings, never look at them once when I buy a game. The only useful rating is your own judgement.

That is where things got unfair IMO. Oblivion was T but was changed to M becuase whoever is in charge of ratings or whatever saw that there are mods to make underwear and tops go away. Ya I know, they are mods but that shows how stupid the ratings people are.

And yet Morrowind had a strip bar, a homosixual House Hlaalu councilman that asks to take off your clothes in return for a favor, and a Demora that threatens to "[censored] your corpse", and the game is T

You should have to be a gamer to rate games. I swear, the people giving out the ratings are too far out of the loop to be competent.

The ESRB is stupid and pointless IMO

Only people who use the ESRB (and other media rating systems) are probably like... psychotic mormons

OF COURSE this game will be rated M , I have not 1 shred of doubt about that

But how many kids will miss out on this great game simply because their parents are morons and won't let them play a rated M game? Tsk tsk , sad indeed. Hopefully not that many , not aware that there are even enough psycho-parents to merit the ESRBs existance but.... yeah...

Edit : Great point made by the guy who called out the hypocrisy of allowing bloody violence but not even nipbles

If ESRB or a similar entity didn't exist, then violent games would just be sensored entirely, or outright banned. Some form of ratings bored is necessary if video games are to be protected as a form of media that can safely include mature content. And the only joke here is the notion that somehow we'd be better off without a ratings bored, it's not like ESRB keeps you from playing the game, all it does is tell us if a game is suitable for children or not, and it's ridiculous to say that's a bad thing, not all parents want their children to see blood, gore and six, and if they actually pay attention to it, a rating for video games or other media can be used as a guideline to help them decide if they're willing to let their children play a game or not. If no such things exist, then they can accuse video game companies of distributing aimulated violence or six to their children, which they can still do with the existence of ESRB mind you, but as long as a video game rating system exists, we can use this to defend the violent video games and tell those parents that if they don't want their children playing such games, they shouldn't be buying M rated games. But if you take ESRB away, then they're complaints become justified because the video game companies are still distributing such content, and yet then, no warning is given that not all parents necessarily want their children to play the game in question. Gamers should be grateful for the existence of ESRB, if anything, because as long as it's around it can justify the production and distribution of violent video games by showing that not all games are simply children's toys.

Although I agree that it's kind of silly that nudity is seen as worse for children than violence, but that's a completely different subject as it has to do with the actual standards by which the rating for a game are decided, not with the validity of any attempt to classify games based on what age groups they're appropriate for.

Sorry we use numbers in my country. But yeah I know M is like 18+ or something. A lot of blood and violence, in addition to the finishing moves, in addition to marriage. It's at least 16+ because of those things.

How is marriage contributing to the M/18+ rating? Last I checked, acknowledging that *gasp* people get married doesn't automatically make something unsuitable for children. I mean I've seen children's movies in which marriage is referenced.

I don't care about ratings, never look at them once when I buy a game. The only useful rating is your own judgement.

And what do you do when you've never played a game before and don't know enough about it to really know what kind of content to expect from it? You can't apply your own judgement to somrthing you don't know about, and by the time you do know about it, it may be too late.

I remember there being a suggestion somewhere that strictly numerical or age-based ratings should be gotten rid of and instead the type of potentially offending content would be listed on the front of the box like it's currently listed on the back or in the manual.

It's RP because the esrb rates it after the game is finished. That's just how it works.

Saves time and is simple. But I don't think we'll be seing that any time soon, if at all :homestar:

Yes, but then it was discovered that there are nipbles in the game that you have to use mods to find and of course while torture, murder, and violent bloody death are perfectly fine for teenagers to be exposed to we can't allow them to see human body parts.

Yes it's a known fact. All teenagers are torturing and murdering people and none of them are doing anything sixual or related to mammalian glands or other body parts.....or atleast that's fox new's approach.

They did. In the pre-patch version of the texture there were nipbles. The nipbles were blurry and ugly, but definitely there. And of course you couldn't see them in the vanilla game since they were covered by a bra. They patched it later and replaced the nipble texture with a barbie doll texture (no nipbles). To make sure 'the hackers' (that's what Bethesda called modders who made use of their nipble texture) can't use it anymore. Idiotic, but I guess that's how things work in the land of nipblegate.

EDIT: If you want proof either install v1.0 of Oblivion (and don't patch it obviously) and look at the upperbodyfemale.dds texture or look for the first 'nvde' mod on Nexus, there is a comparison screen showing the original upper body texture. If you have GOTY or if you install SI the first method might not work, not sure how the patching is handled in that case.

I'll take your word for it. I don't have my original copy of OB (the "T" rated one) and the oldest copy I have doesn't have the nipble texture so Beth must have replaced the actual asset located on the disk.

The ESRB is stupid and pointless IMO

I can't see anyone over 18, especially a parent, thinking the ESRB is stupid. When I was under 21 I thought the legal drinking age was stupid too.

The ESRB isn't stupid but it's current rating system is. Slight nudity (Something any human will see in their life) is considered "M" and murder and killing is considered "T" (Think of the children! briast will ruin them for life!!! But yes murdering people is perfectly acceptable)
