Still In The Dark Bug (please help!)

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2010 3:54 pm

I've run into a bug where I've completed Still In The Dark, and told Paladin Hardin about the Chains that Bind and ALSO finished the ventilation for the elder. Now, both Hardin and the Elder are telling me to come back in a few days. I have logged several hours into the game after this and I am not content with just leaving the Brotherhood alone now. I need their support for New Vegas, and I want the power armor training. If this is a glitch that can be fixed, cool, can somebody help me out. If it cannot be fixed, im chucking this game out of the window and staying away from any Bethesda products in the future. I can't even count the other bugs Im having problems with in the game, but this is the most important one right now.

Don't blame Bethesda; blame Obsidian, they are the butt holes that sold you a broken game because they are the ones to develop it. Although what you want to do is after you complete all the quests the Brotherhood of Steel gives you you want to come back after those several game days (should be about 72 game hours) and if you speak to Elder McNamara you can ask to become a Paladin. He will give you a quest and when you complete the quest you come back for your reward which is a full suit of the crappy T-45d, membership into the BoS, the title of Paladin, and the option to ask for help for the battle at Hoover Dam. If you help Paladin Hardin replace McNamara you forfeit the ability to do these so you can't get BoS assistance to Hoover Dam. It is really lame that they don't make that clear but that's the way it turns out. I'm sorry for your inconvenience because I understand the bullcrap involved with this game's game-breaking glitches/bugs.

Sorry to hear that. A lot of the fixes on these forums only tend to work for several people not work for anyone else. A lot of people encountering more and more bugs everyday and the demand is nuts. Sorry that this happened to you, if it makes you feel any better my game is broken too.

makes me feel a little better lol. Im a completionist, so I'll be doing a second playthrough eventually anyway. Maybe it wont glitch out the second time around. Such a shame, theres so much potential in this game.

Supposedly there was a PC patch on Steam (a second one) that supposedly fixed nearly all of the game-breakers. So ideally the console version should pop up around a few days time if we're lucky enough.

It would but I've given up on the game and I'm refunding it tomorrow. I'll maybe buy this game again once they release one of those compilation C.D.s that have all the DLC. I would say I would wait for the Game of the Year Edition but after this there is no way this game is getting game of the year.
