Still in the Dark never to be patched?

With the new patch released, people who have experienced the bug in "Still in the Dark" which causes McNamara and Hardin are put into an error state which causes the inability to complete the BoS quest-line have gotten the short end of the stick. While the bug is fixed if one is going through the quest for the first time, those who already have experienced the bug are still unable to complete the BoS quest-line. This is a huge pain if one wants to side with the NCR, but doesn't want to destroy the last remnants of the BoS in the west. With that said, is this basically Bethesda saying they will never patch the bug for those who have already experienced it?

Quick question: Are you using the compilation patch? For some reason, it borks Still in the Dark. For me, McNamara got stuck in the "come back later, still lifting the lockdown" phase.

If you are, then disable the mod and load a save from before the quest was finished (say, around when you're about to turn in the HEPA filters and whatnot to Lorenzo), and this should let you complete the quest and move on to Eyesight to the Blind.

ETA: Wow, I svck. Didn't notice this was on the 360 part of the forum. Ignore the above! Pay no attention to the caffeine-deprived idiot behind the curtain!

I think it's just a matter of they can't fix it for those who've already experienced it, it's part of the save now. It's kind of a user error (I'm not trying to start anything), the developers never accounted for people trying to play both sides of the fence or go back on your decision, I believe this quest CAN be completed by installing the other Elder, but if you say you're going to, you have to do it. You'll pretty much have to start over to complete the quest, or just ignore the Brotherhood from now on (I don't think that quest is necessary to get to the end game if I recall correctly).

Well it's part of "For the Republic Part 2" quest line for the NCR.....so this glitch effectively forces an NCR aligned character to massacre the Brotherhood. That being said I didn't even know I was committing a bug before it was too late, because McNamara recommends you leave for a couple days and I went ahead and made it a week doing many other things in the game. A disappointment to be sure, I'll wait a little while to see if they intend another patch soon (I know, not likely) and try to complete everything else. If I get impatient I'll prolly just blow it up....guess I wont live up to my "Good Natured" perk.

Ya looks like I won't be finishing this quest until I start my second play though. Very disappointing.
