Still a werewolf after curing myself.

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 11:34 am

I cured myself of being a werewolf a long time ago in the game at the end of the Companions quest line. However, recently I've noticed that I wasn't getting the well rested perk when sleeping which I thought was just a bug, but when I checked my stats it said I've been a werewolf for 76 days. The werewolf transformation option is no longer there and yet the game still says I am one, I thought when you did the cure you're cured forever. This must be a major bug. Any ideas what I can do?

Don't mind what the stat said. It may either not have an end condition for counting or be poorly worded and simply have how many days you had been one.

If you don't have the power, you're not one.

But I'm still having the negative effect, not being being well rested, even though everything was just fine when I cured it. It just seemed to suddenly come back, Plus the guards also started talking to me like I'm a werewolf again, "I find your wolfish grin unsettling".

I had the same issue, never well rested, then I noticed if I sleep in the Companions house, I get the well rested bonus, but it never says "well rested" after I sleep. I decided to marry Alea and now I get the Lovers bonus + well rested. It only works when I sleep in the companions house. Hope this helps. xbox 360

Is it saying that you are not getting the perk (like it did when you were a werewolf), or are you just not getting it. I noted that you don't always get the wording after sleeping, but you have the perk (check active effects). Also I think you have to sleep a certain amount of time (?).

Weird, I'm married to Aela and I've never gotten the lover's comfort bonus (we live in Markarth). I just chalk it up to Skybugz.

OP, is it possible that you also have the Lover's Stone buff? Because the rested bonuses and the Lover's Stone buff do not stack. EDIT: Also, can you still change into a werewolf?

I have the same problem -- I'm "cured," I can't do a Beast Form transformation anymore, but my "Days as werewolf" counter keeps increasing and I cannot receive Well Rested bonuses.

Using the console, I find that all the quest stages for the cure quest is complete, but the PlayerIsWerewolf global is still set to 1. (And no, setting it to 0 does not fix the issue.)

I have the same issue - got cured, but the days as a werewolf count in the stats page keep increasing and the guards keep referring to me as a werewolf still. It's a little annoying, but not too game breaking.

for those on pc, check the 'cure' section here for console commands to cure it: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Werewolves#Cure

The problem is that the game doesn't do this: "set PlayerIsWerewolf to 0" which is why your stat page is incorrect, and I think why people keep commenting about your smell/appearance. There may even be a perk or two that doesn't get removed, but I'm not sure about that.

As for why you're not getting the rested bonus, do you have the Lover Stone's effects? If you do, you'll never get a rested bonus, werewolf or not.
