Stimpak help?

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 9:05 pm

Hey guys, as this is my first Fallout game, I am ready to admit I'm getting my [censored] handed to me. There are so many things to do and work on I'm not even sure what to do lol. To top it off, I'm not used to the fact that our hp can't be recovered by resting or waiting but instead needs stimpaks, food or a trip to the doctor.

I've been relying quite heavily on stimpaks and I have none right now plus I don't have the means to buy any because they are wayyy too expensive. Am I missing something here, or is this really how the game is meant to be played?

Because after every 2 enemy confrontations killing around 10-15 dudes, I'm back to like 1/4 of my health and am forced to fast travel back to the doctor to be treated.

Is there an easier way to get stimpaks? And am I playing the game correctly or should I be more careful? Golly, Skyrim had a healing spell I could use any time even if I wasn't a mage lol.

Just be more careful? Armour up. Use better ammo maybe?

But, I just wanted to say nice one for using the word "golly" there. :)

Also, a good change in Fo4 is that Food are actually really useful for healing/buffs. I can now keep stimpack for crippled limbs and heal on food (cooked is better, of course).

You can craft your own stimpacks, aaaand... food also heals. Drugs are great for extra combat edge so enemies wont hurt you as much.

I have like 50 stimpacks in stock (playing on hard). Sometimes I use 3-5 per fight. Scavenge a alittle and you will be swimming in stimpacks.

Use food to heal. Cooking animal parts is better than miraculously preserved 200 year old sugar bombs and also rad free.

eating food, drinking nuka cola&water and sleeping are the ways you can heal other than the doctor afaik. A lot of the game revolves around scavenging stuff though, if you only pick up stuff from your enemies and don't rumage around for things you will most likely run out of stimpacks. I was playing on normal difficulty for the most part, but I agree that stim packs was a bit more sparse at the beginning of the game, compared to the preverious titles.

When you sleep you get all of your health back. Sleeping in one of your places, gives you the well-rested perk.
