[RELz] Stirk 1.2

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 5:25 am

If you're looking for any specific bugs to fix, here's one:

The alterations you made to NQDWilderness left out something fairly critical - the SEWorld check. Without that, all Cyrodiil based wilderness rumors become available while in Shivering Isles, and that's not supposed to happen. So a check for SEWorld == 0 needs to be placed on the quest conditions for NQDWilderness. The function does not require the presence of SI to work.

Version 1.3 sounds very good!

You can have a look at my LOD textures if you want and take them if you want -> http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27209

Thanks for this wonderful Modification :)

I loaded up Stirk last night for the frist time. I just wanted to stop in and comment on how awsome it is. I have only just started the intro quests, but I am hooked already. There must be something going on in that mine, and i've got to go find out what it is. Thanks for all the great stuff your team has done with it!

OK so I rescued this Ciscotte guy from Goblins and returned him to the one who asked for him.

I got the reward and the quest closed on my quest log.

problem is now he won't stop following my character. As if his stuck in follow mode.

Version 1.2 - is this a known bug? Any suggestions?

Otherwise I'm going to reload an earlier save and not play further.

thanks

I just completed that quest as well and he's not following me after quest completion. Seems to be a weird bug that only happens on your side, reloading may help. Did you try to open the console, click on him and type 'evp'?

EDIT: If you do look at the console information - is his package a follow package? You could also try to kill and resurrect him via console.

Add me to the list of those who would appreciate a 1.3 update. I also like good voice acting, but it's not a high priority.

Should you not find the time for an update, I want to thank you for what you have already done with 1.2.

Hmmm - well he followed me until I opened the console and typed evp which showed quest stage at 100.

Then - magically - he walked away.

What does evp do again?

Evp is EvaluatePackage, which means the NPC will instantly re-evaluate his list of AI packages and choose the correct one. Packages aren't evaluated all the time, sometimes it can take a rather long time before NPCs do this. He would have stopped following you on his own after a certain time. If there is an update for the mod they could add evp to the quest result script at stage 100, which is always a good idea for situations like these.

It's not really difficult to create one if one is not available. Just make one through OBMM.

Here's a question/bug report/...something in regards to the main quest: I already knew, going in, that I didn't want to do Polle's side of the MQ and would rather side with the miners. However, I had trouble getting the miners' side to activate.

I think the problem is that I initially met all the conditions to begin Polle's side--I'd done three side quests, but not The Abandoned Miner yet. (I didn't know these conditions existed at the time; otherwise, I would have sought out TAM quest sooner.) This caused Polle to spawn into the town square and force-greet me, but I immediately closed out of the dialogue, did not talk to him after that, and certainly didn't accept the Strange Noises quest from him. I then went and did The Abandoned Miner, making that side quest #4.

After this Tom Albin is supposed to find you and deliver a letter, but in my game he never showed--just fell off the face of the earth. PRID/moveto player brought him back, but he still wouldn't start the quest for me. After waiting 72+ hours with still no quest I gave up and consoled my way into the miners' side of Strange Noises, and everything after that worked fine.

I'm willing to assume that not making TAM one of my first three side quests borked up the miners' side of things and tried to railroad me onto Polle's side of the MQ. Is there a way in a future version to make it so that doesn't happen? (Mostly because I don't appreciate being railroaded, however accidentally.) Say, to activate Polle only if the player rejects the Abandoned Miner quest? That would make choosing sides more of a conscious decision, rather than leaving it up to chance.

Okay...finished the MQ tonight. Very well done! That gate puzzle was fiendish. ;) The MQ had a pretty satisfactory ending, too.

Aaand...now I have bug reports, in case you're still considering v1.3:

Spoiler
- Havok/collision seems to have run amok on Stirk. ;) I'm seeing bouncing items in display cases, roots, random stuff on the floor, and hanging lanterns.

- After defeating the lich (but before reporting as much to the Captain), Marks fell off the face of Tamriel. I think he was supposed to give me a reward (or so the UESP wiki claims), but I couldn't find him anywhere.

- Asking NPCs about rumors would prompt them to suggest that "Father Ambrogio loves vistors," and that I should visit the chapel...after Ambrogio was murdered and the chapel burned to the ground.

- Talking to any of the miners about Maugrue the Steward, after talking to Alenion and getting the suggestion to talk to the Captain but prior to actually talking to the Captain--gets me that suggestion all over again, and an identical journal entry. Basically I get the "I was told to speak to Cartello Stirk..." entry in my journal twice over.

- Amarius Eulius' logbook is marked as owned/stolen. I snagged it in front of an NPC for the "Errands" quest and got a bounty for stealing.

- Despite the quest telling me that the chapel doors were locked and barred once it was set on fire, I could stroll right on in.

- This is more of a compatibility thing, but: the bit where you have everything removed from your inventory created some issues with OOO's droppable lit torches hotkey/inventory item. As in, it caused it to replicate itself ad infinitum. (Complete with message spam about my hotkey being changed.) By the time I got my inventory back I had 33 of the things, and dropping them spawned...well, 33 lit torches on the floor. Is there anything that can be done about this on Stirk's end, or should I talk to the OOO team?
