No Stone Unturned: How Many Have Completed This?

Post » Sun Jun 23, 2013 2:50 pm

How many have collected all 24 stones for this quest?

If not, how far have you gotten?

If you play multiple times through, how many of your characters have completed this?

Just curious. Every time I roll up a new character, I want to finish this quest. 20 some odd characters later, the best I have done thus far is 15 stones collected.

I just created a character who is an explorer and it's him who will handle this quest. I'm not intended to look for the location of each stone in the CK or on the UESP.

Your poll's busted. The second question needs an "I have completed it" option.

I've completed it on one character.

I hate this idiotic quest. I threw away a character because I started it once.

I have done it on 9 characters. 1 legit and the others skipped most of the quest.

I get as many as I can find. So far, the most I've gotten has been about fifteen.

I've done multiple playthroughs and not once have I finished this quest line. I don't really enjoy playing a thief, so I only have one character in the guild proper (who still hasn't become guild leader yet either) and she's only got about 10 of the stones.

You need to join different guilds to complete it,so I never found all.

Is this the longest, most involved quest in Skyrim?

You just need to enter everywhere; you don't need to be a member of anything. Not even the Theves Guild, I think (I still must try this).

There are a few of them that are quest and guild locked. You don't necessarily have to complete the guild quest lines, but you do have to advance them to certain points to get access to some of the stones.

As locked as the wall in the DB sanctuary, in which you can enter only if you know the password?

That's probably the most restricted one. But you can gain access to the sanctuary by wiping the DB out as well, if you don't want to join them.

ETA - actually, I take that back. One requires that you buy a house.

I know but I'm asking about the stones. Are some of them as locked as this wall is?

Yes. You need to do several quests in Solitude for one, and join the CoW for another. You are literally unable to get them without cheating otherwise.

I've completed this quest ten times, which is every single save I've ever made. It's very rewarding.

In My experience, Yes. I have only completed it once. I have not had a character touch an Unusual Gem since mid 2012.

I've done it on a few characters but I find that it gets tedious to be continually going to the same places to get the stones. I'd rather spend my time exploring areas that I don't often go to.

Completed it twice now, probably not going to do it again. It makes you gain money much too quickly.

It's a pain in the rear end quest that's for sure an I've found about 15 total through all my character's an that's about 30 character's so if I find them I find them if I don't I don't but I sure as he'll ain't actively looking for them.

Only using a mod that puts a marker on each stone. and only with only character. its a pretty boring quest so i never finished it again.

The perk the quest gives you, "Prowler's Profit", is amazing. It allows you to find gems in any dungeon container. Going through a Draugr dungeon, you can end up with 25k+ gold worth of Gems, easy. Along with the Transmute spell, it's great for training Blacksmithing by making Gemmed Jewelry. With the Atronach Forge, you can also use the gems to make Fire/Frost/Void Salts for making Exploding Bolts.

You'll see the perk in action in the later half of this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HS5CHJvP-Ks
