Stones of Barenziah post 1.4 installation

Post » Mon May 21, 2012 2:22 pm

I still cannot get back into the Thalmor Embassy. I am missing two Barenziah stones, one that I cannot get to in the Embassy and the other is in the Dwemer Museum in Markarth. I cannot get that one due to a glitch that triggers Hard Answers as soon as I enter the museum. Is there anyway to pick up the final two stones without glitching?

The Thalmor Embassy was supposed to be fixed in the patch. Am I just missing another entrance somewhere? Is there anyway to get the Markarth stone? I assume it's triggering because Gallus's journal s stuck in my inventory.

I also cannot get Blood on the Ice to trigger. So no Windhelm house. So far the new patch is VERY disappointing. All of my previous problems remain. I am too far along and attached to my current character to start all over.

Seems patches only fix the problem for new games, sadly. I can't understand it either why bethesda would put out a game that allows players to do what they want, but this results in breaking quests. very sad, and unlikely to ever be fixed. What good are patches if you have to start completely over.

That svcks, I was hoping 1.4 unlocked the door. Guess you have to "glitch" yourself back in threw the cave still.

According to the listed 1.4 quest fixes the Thalmor Embassy stone should be accessible. It's not . Am I looking in the wrong place?

Its upstairs on a dresser. Can you get in, or is the embassy still locked?

The door is still locked. You cant jump over the fence. And there is no ladder in the cave. So I have no idea how they fixed this problem. I even checked to see if the guards have a key.

For such a small problem bethesda cant expect people to restart their game. Put a key on the guards and call it good is all they have to do. Hopefully those that have not started the quest will be able to get back in.

There's a YouTube video(sorry at work or would find the link) where you can glitch in threw the cave via a shout and tricky jumping.

Strange. I read the stone was supposed to be moved into the cave post 1.4.

After the 1.4 patch the stone was suppose to be moved into Recking Cave below the TE. I was able to get the stone before 1.4 patch by using a horse to jump the back fence from the outer courtyard to the inner courtyard. As for the one in the Dwemer Museum I suggest that you complete that quest and then come back for the gem, that's what I did and the stone was still there after completing the quest.

Just a note I haven't had a chance to get on my 360 and download the patch yet, so I can't really say anything about the "Blood in the Ice" quest. I hope that mine doesn't freak out as that's the only house I don't have yet.

You go around the high rise the embassy is on down the path to 'Reeking Cave' (where the frost troll was when you escaped). You will need all three words of Whirlwind Spirit.

You spam jump up the hole in the roof (where the log has fallen down) And when you can't jump further turn right towards to platform area, the use the shout and you will shoot across. This may take a few attempts. I hope I have explained it in enough detail. This worked for me, and you will go into the house with the stone so it's easy.

I completed Hard Answers already. I completed that a while ago. I just have the journal stuck in my inventory. I think that is what is triggering it. I thought that I read the patch was going to clean quests like this up and allow you to drop already completed quest items. You can't complete this quest a second time and it just gets stuck in your quest log. I will check out the cave. Thanks. :)
