Stop freaking out guys

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 11:39 am

First everybody was worried that everybody will be lights and that their would be absolutely no variety to the game.

Next, everybody is thinking that everybody will be heavy and sit in one spot and maul everybody down

What next? Mediums will be overused because everybody like's assault rifle?

Chill out guys, the game is balanced perfectly. This isn't a rail way system game where it's impossible to flank, every size will have it's use and their will be no class or size better than another one. You may be good at something and think it's more powerful than the rest, but rest assured that somebody will come and proove you otherwise. From what I've seen in most gameplays their is usually at least 3 paths at one time to travel and reach objectives. This coupled with the new battlefield trailer that just came out today just prooves to me that gameflow will be seamless.

Relax guys, all will be fine. Get a breath of fresh air every once in a while, because the dust in your room is starting to make you all not be able to think strait. And that's a saying, not a flame.

There are always those people that are going to b*tch about something, no matter how perfect it may be, simple as that.

Lets face it...

Someone WILL do something truly AWESOME with a specific build, and a whole bunch of copycats will come out of the woodwork.

Then someone else will beat that build by doing SOMETHING ELSE AWESOME. And a whole bunch of copycats will move to using THAT build instead.

It won't break the game, it'll just be flavour of the month, gradually leaving people with the flavour they're best at using. If you try a build that everyone's using, and do amazing things, then change to the "new" build everyone loves and die horribly, then you'll stick with the previous favourite instead. And if you do your own thing and find a perfect build for you, then you'll probably end up seeing your build as the new flavour of the month for a while at some point too. Or at least one similar to it.

No, we had that already.

Also everyone will be Operative, Engineer and eventually Soldier and Medic.

OH JESUS CHRIST THE WALLS ARE ENCLOSING FROM FRONT TO BACK!!!

NO!!! NOW LEFT TO RIGHT!!!!!

People are just too pessimistic. People always want everything to be 100% perfect with whipped cream, and a cherry on top. Once they are reassured about 1 aspect of the game, they get skeptical about another.

For me though I don't care. I'm purely confident with the games final outcome and from what I've seen from Dr. Sticklers gameplay, the game looks like all it's cracked up to be.

Heh, that was Neil Alphonso quoting some advice that another dev gave him.

Reminds me of a Calvin & Hobbes quote: "A good compromise leaves everyone mad."

That was from Neil? I knew that quote sounded familiar. I should make a list of epic video game quotes and make this numero uno

I too have noticed that recently the topics have shifted from the blunt "No OHK? The Fa?! Are there knives and dual-wield at least?!" kind of posts, to the "Ok, i'm worried that possibly something might not be maybe..." kind of posts. :ahhh:

Sigh. I think the truth is...we've run out of things to talk about until we get the game, and every one is over-anolysing and speculating. There! I said it! Someone had to!

Well I will say that it is certainly obvious that simply because of the SMART system, there will be lots of light class simply for the fact that I want to ledge run and be capable of all SMART actions. Then when folks see how much damage a heavy class can take, I am sure that will attract mass appeal as well.

Those are reasonable fears though, with the shi-tty unfinished games that have come out over the last 4-5 months, B-Ops, KZ3, Crysis, too much camping in those games and one shot kills and overpowered weapons and lag, and devs not fixing anything...

True but this game has been years in development and the devs carry more about making a good game then making a quick cash cow of a game.

The only things i'm a little upset with is that it doesn't have split-screen (i'll get over it eventually) and that i has a first day patch for the 360 that i won't be able to get for a long time, i have dial up (i'll get over this too because it apparently only fixes very minor issues). As we can see from the "Unofficial Brink poll" the stats for about every thing seem decently even so we have no reason to worry about people clumping up on the operative or the light body type
