Stop leaving games! Crytek please improve Host Migration

Post » Fri Mar 08, 2013 12:53 am

Why do so many people quit out in the middle of a game? I was playing yesterday and in a span of two hours we probably only played 5 or 6 complete games because as soon as the host starts having a bad game, they quit.

It wouldn't be THAT bad if the host migration would work at least occasionally, but it doesn't. I can count on one hand the number of times a host migration was successful. Improving the success rate of host migrations needs to be a big priority for Crytek.

I was in some game earlier, and literally 30 seconds in the game, we had the host migration junk pop up and end the game. Barely started, and people were already leaving and screwing up the whole game. Next game I got into, host migration and game ended in six minutes. I think I saw the host actually migrate to someone once out of like 10 games I played today. That's pretty sad.

You're lucky - I have yet to see one single successful host migration. Boots us out every single time.

Couple things:

1. Don't mistake every host migration as someone who quit, because they were losing. I've quit a few matches because everyone was teleporting around map and my character kept getting rubberbanded back twenty steps. I'm not going to finish such a round and I bet it's happening to a lot of folks.

2. It's too beneficial for scrubs to quit mid-game, I think. I only say this because when I've been DCd, the xp and/or K/D doesn't record. Since I am pretty sure this is how it is when someone rage quits, why would these folks, with a scrub mentality, ever finish a game?

3. I haven't seen host migration work...even once. I guess you guys are lucky? Lol, insert sarcasm here.
