I hope there's a quest in which the quest giver tried to trick you and doesn't know that you know it. After which you can say: "I'll take my payment.. IN BLOOD, YOU SCUM!!" :D

I think we won't have a 'Stop right there criminal scum!' issue in TES:V, things surely must be changed for their better. What annoyed me more was the fact that guards could use newtype intuition and forces powers like a jedi to tell if you've commited a crime. Something else that made me thing 'What the' was the fact that killing someone only got you about two weeks in jail in Oblivion. I understand that its just a game and that jail terms can't be realistic but sometimes it made me chuckle I.e getting 5 years in jail for depopulating cyrodill.

No more psychics, and more varied dialogue. I want the first, I hope for the latter. "Hope" and "dialogue improvement" don't usually mix when Beth is involved.

I was waiting for someone to post that :bliss:

I definitely agree with the easter egg idea.

I think as llong as you effectively remain undetected while murdering someone there should be no guards storming into the residence, even if it wasn't a one shot kill, but moment you are found to be a murderer you are tracked, arrested and confronted by a decnt amount of guards. If you manage to kill them and take your pedigree info from their corpse then you're a free man.

The GI article is probably already written but it would be pretty epic if Reiner asked Todd "How will criminal scum be handled in Skyrim?"

I just hope I can run from the guards properly. They always seemed to know where my stealth classes where, when I hid in a dark alleyway. From Arena-Oblivion.

I remember doing that glitch in Oblivion where you kill Dorian then get infinite gold somehow, but after I killed him a guard would just materialize inside the house and inform me that I had violated the law.

This. This is how the guards should act.. well the Nord ones anyway. I'm sure there will be a legion outpost with Imperials somewhere.

But yeah, going back to the Morrowind guard style would be nice. Psychic guards are annoying..

That and shop keepers should not be able to tell that something is stolen unless I stole it directly from them...

"STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM!" Is practically at meme status now. XD

It is. I see it regularly in the WoW forums.

Wes Johnson and his Imperial guard voice work was one of the best things in the game.

Hehe, a rough justice system would be a nice change. Maybe something like, you commit a crime, if you pay gold you get off with a warning, and only 10 health left, but all your gear returns to you.

If you dont, you are thrown out of the city with no items, and and with a little health left. You then have to find your items under a tree somwhere in the wilderness. You have to survive long enough to get to your items.

How fun would that be.

"Stop Right There Criminal Scum,

My name is Imperial Guard, and I hate every single one of you. All of you are low endurance, low intelligence troublemakers who spend every second of their day looking for laws to break. You are everything bad in Tamriel. Honestly, have any of you ever bought something? I mean, I guess it's fun stealing shopkeepers' property because of your low score in mercantile, but you all take it to a whole new level. This is even worse than pickpocketing wandering traders when no guards are around.

Don't be a criminal. Just hit anyone within eyesight. I'm pretty much perfect. I was captain of the running team, and starter on my shouting team. What sports do you play, other than "commit senseless acts of violence and theft against those who cannot defend themselves"? I also have full Imperial Armor, and have arrested the hero many times (She just paid the fine; S**t was SO gold). You are all criminals who should have just payed the fine. Thanks for listening."

I'm hoping that guards in between cities don't communicate so immediately. Perhaps it could take AT LEAST a few days to relay the information about you from town to town. Maybe even curriers carrying the news between towns could be killed or bribed preventing other towns from hearing of your crimes.

Anywhere you go means you have taken at least the same amount of time if not longer it would take to send a messenger with your crimes list to that city or town.

I hope they re-work guard reactions depending on the crime. Sometimes it was a little ridiculous.

*Steals cup"

Guard: My God there's a psychopath on the loose!

That example is pretty hilarious. I actually laughed out loud, which never happens. Yeah, they ought to set up reactions to crimes based on the bounty. But when they're making a system that reacts to every possible crime a player could commit, they can't possibly anticipate for everything.

For some reason I kind of hope they keep the ridiculous guard reactions. XD

Just beef them up so that they're totally honest:

"Stop right there, criminal scum! I was sleeping in Elseweyr when I psychically detected you picking up that clay bowl in the northern reaches of Skyrim..."
