Stop saying graphics are worse than Crysis 1

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 12:04 pm

Because they aren't. You guys are so dumb that you judge the graphics from the MP demo compared to Crysis 1 single-player. Read that idiot's thread about canceling his pre-order because of that. WATCH THE CAMPAIGN FOOTAGE OF CRYSIS 2!!!! IT LOOKS BETTER THAN CRYSIS 1, NO DEBATE!!!! :-) A generation ahead in lighting technology, better shadows, better textures, better character models, better everything!!!!!!!

The MP mode and campaign are not even made from the same developers!!!! MP mode is made by Free Radical ("Crytek UK"), the guys who made Haze. The campaign is made by real Crytek. You guys are ignorant and ill-informed. Watch the campaign footage and compare to vanilla Crysis 1 campaign. Not even close!!!!!!!!!!

I've got over 100h hours logged into crysis on steam (campaign alone). I've played the PC Crysis 2 multiplayer demo, tested the leaked version and watched pretty much all media released, and if you think Crysis 2 looks better then you need to get your freaking eyes checked.

Not only does it look worse but the game is extremly cramped in comparision. Yoy're pretty much required to turn off bloom and temporal aa to not make the it a total blurry/shining mess...

Now here's some of my Crysis shots if you wish to compare...

Damn that last one got messed up... is there no way to edit?

Anyway, keep in mind the images have been compressed.

I think it depends on how you look at it. Crysis 2 definetly has lower res textures, but the overall look of Crysis 2 seems more photo-realistic to me than the first one. I think it's because of the lighting system and TAA it uses. Also, the character models in the first Crysis looked slightly cartoonish to me, but the ones in Crysis 2 look far more real-looking.

Your Retarded everyone that's basing the graphics from MP Demo is I love how when crysis came out everyone complained "OH this too hard to run U svck Crytek" now they make something that looks even better and runs amazing and now your yelling "WoW crysis total sellouts only dx9 WOW"

Looking at these screens I will stick my neck out and say I think the graphics in Crysis 2 are better than Crysis 1.

http://vr-zone.com/articles/crysis-2-launched-quick-performance-preview/11662-4.html

I'd say these are the best graphics I've seen yet. Don't get me wrong, Crysis remains my favourite SP game to date.

Yeah, like YOU, the person who said global illumination is a DX11 only feature rofl. Read his post here: http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=152766#p152766

Crysis 2 does not have lower res textures. Crysis 1 had really average textures for most of the game. Only inside the aircraft carrier and inside the mountain alien labyrinth level were the textures very nice. The beach, rocks, mountains, most structures, ground for most of the game, all mediocre texture work. Play the vanilla Crysis 1 again and see for yourself.

I agree. The graphics are better than crysis 1. It is just angry peeps that wanted a 3x graphical leap so they could not run the game.

One other thing to note when you all play the game, from what I've read the graphics continue to get better and better as the game progresses to the later levels. It has a slow start in the early levels but then really picks up with the crazy action later on.
