O, my word. Mod it in?! We don't need a mod to make stores balanced, important, and fun to shop in. It should be in the game anyway. It's a pinnacle feature. Maybe the developers should make the game just a starting menu so we can mod in the entire game our selves.

Any shop owner who has a daedric anything is obviously very wealthy...Considering daedric is the rarest material in the universe.

but being able to buy a glass warhammer at level 1 would break the game somewhat.

I prefer shops NOT to sell anything above silver at any time.

rare weapons should mean rare weapons.

Yep... The rest of the armors and weapons wouldn't make sense...

Anyone wishing that they would implement an item system similar to how diablo and games like that did? I would love to see hundreds of items with different properties like one that adds ice damage, one that adds fire damage, one with poison or whatever.

But buying a glass warhammer at level one means you had the money to do it, which means you obviously did something spectacular and awesome to earn the money.

If you're a bad enough dude to do that, you deserve the reward.

I dont like that idea at all, sure mabe let one store have a really powerfull weapon or armor in the beginging but ilike coming back into stores and seeing new things the stores should change there tiems everyonce in a while id love that, having them have everything right away is boring.

Then shops become pointless, except to sell stuff.

In terms of the world, not every vendor should have Daedric armour because it is hard to obtain and none should have the legendary artifacts.

Why wouldn't Daedric armor be common during the Oblivion Crisis? Seems like the best time to fill Tamriel with daedric armor.

It would be good for inventories to change over time -- perhaps randomly with economic adjustments. It would also be good if shopkeepers' attitudes toward you have a greater effect on which items they show you.

Yeah, it's a lot more fun and interesting when a few items from the upper tiers are scattered around.

There could be such a thing as the merchant has certain rare and valuable goods in his inventory, but you'd have to be a very good customer before he'll show the stuff to you.

Say theres a glass cuirass on a manikin in a corner. You know it's there but it's not on the list of goods to buy. There might be a conversation topic for special goods that has several responses when asked about. If you are a frequent customer and have gotten on the merchants good side, perhaps he'll sell it to you if you've got the coin.

Then of course they could also send you to another who collects rare goods and is willing to make a trade. Maybe she'll send you out to bring back some other piece of gear that is equally as good. This could cause a minor dilemma, Fulfill your bargain, or keep the item you collected instead.

I guess anything could be better than leaving all of the junk you find on foes on their bodies because taking it would be a waste of time. There's no sense in collecting money if you can't use it, or carrying around a sack full of goods if no one can afford to buy it.

There is always a point in these games when collecting loot isn't worth the energy. At least it takes a little while to get there.

I agree. Rare stuff should be worked for, and found in the world. But I get the idea the stuff should be available. In some cases, you'll still need the relevant funds and training in order to use a higher level item. But that doesn't mean it shouldn't be there. Because some people might be ready to use a high level item without being at the right level. It's tricky. Finding the right balance between leveled items, or not.

A lot of people are suggesting that inventory change over time. I think that would be very fun. Although it would require a dynamic inventory system which might be time consuming to code. If they can do it well I would like it. However I thing rarer items should stay in the store for longer. Imagine if you finally got enough money to buy that rare sword you where looking at and you went to the store and it's gone.
