Stormcloacks..

Post » Tue Jul 16, 2013 8:38 pm

So, I Joined the stormcloacks, and i am kind of regret about that, because they don't understand that the empire only wants to keep the Aldmeri Dominion out of skyrim, but still, the empire is the puppet of the thalmor, my question is that, do you think that the SC are strong enough to defeat the Aldmeri Dominion?, cuz i hate those elf, i hate Ulfric (what he really wants is Power, he does not care about skyrim and talos, and i'm believe in talos and see him as a real god ), i still want the empire rule skyrim, but not as thalmor puppets, as the good old empire....

You should be aware of that there are those who does not think like you. I don't for an example and this is just going to lead to another civil war argument thread

Of course you regret. They are a bunch of hero worshiping, warmongering, soulless barbarians that plague this land which is Alduin's! And you are wise and educated enough to realize this.

Recognizing your mistake is a sign to me. You are enlightened! There is hope yet, come to Valthume and free me from this malevolent spirit named Valdar, and I will guide you towards Skyrim's prosperity!

This is not the same Empire as the Septim Empire, and while I disagree with your notions about the Stormcloaks no, they cant defeat the Dominion in the way your thinking. The idea that it requires military might to defeat the thalmor is a bit narrow minded when considering their long term goals and method of reaching it.

The Empire isn't perfect, but they have the best chance at defeating the Thalmor.

Skyrim is too ravaged from the CW and needs a lot of time to recover. Plus, the Nords would need to build a very powerful navy if they plan on invading Summerset.

Fortunately, the Aldmeri Dominion was trashed during the Great War and is even more vulnerable than Skyrim and the remnants of the Empire. An invasion of Skyrim from Alinor would make Napoleon's Russian Campaign look like a success.

Even if the Stormcloaks were strong enough to drive the Thamlor out of Skyrim - by driving out the Empire would further weaken it and they would be even less likely to stand up to the Thalmor (not having Skyrim's support).

I think it would be in the best interest of fighting againt the Thalmor to unify the Empire once again. Or at the very least, for everyone to join forces and fight the Thalmor, instead of fighting each other.

I have to disagree that the stormcloaks cannot beat The thalmor. They can make powerfull allies like the Redguards and every single race that wants them gone. The empire however is disliked by the Argonians, redguards,Dark elves and the Thalmor

There is no Empire, but doing things the way the Stormcloaks are doing because their leader did it to help them is not the way to go about it.

The Empire is moronic, but was doing the right thing for Cyrodiil simply because of lack of Intelligence, so continuing the Great war at the time was a bad idea. Even after the Thalmor and Redguard ended their fighting, it was still a bad idea simply because we have no evidence on how the state of Aldmeri territory is (DO NOT bring up the Blade girl and wood elf dude from the MQ, as they are biased).

Do not bring up the Empire's politicians. I have no care on the Elder Council but the issue of a certain book in thalmor place makes it seem that they are not as in control of the Empire as many would believe.

Stormcloaks, Imperials, Thalmor. Ain't no matter to me what I kill. let the come.

Skyrim doesnt need the Empire but if Skyrim is part of the Empire then th Empire will have a higher chance of defeating the Thalmor in the next war. Skyrim will survive what ever happens because the Thalmor cant get to Skyrim without passing through their enemies land. they could use their navy if they have one but they would probably fail with that.

Looking at the nations from a logistical standpoint. Attacking cyrodiil is a bad move(Both Redguards/Nords waiting for an opening), and attacking skyrim is a ridiculously stupid move(Cyrodiil's not going to stand by if you move your forces into ships and bring them to skyrim). The Thalmor made a huge mistake when they took the IC and delaying the war is their only chance at success.(Which is why the WGC is a horrible idea to continue to enforce)

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. Are you agreeing with me, disagreeing, or are you thinking I am supporting the Thalmor???

And without logistics and Intel, you cannot be sure if the Thalmor sent their ENTIRE military force, which would be a big factor in sending what is left of your own and leaving yourself open to attacks.

The Empire will definitely stop enforcing the WGC should the Dominion make a move on Skyrim.

You Pathetic Humans, believing Your precious Empire building its forces under Our Noses has a chance, We can see every Soldier entering and exiting. We watch You building mighty Walls, and laugh at Your ineptitude. Our Soldiers begin thier careers by being allowed to "inspect" Your defences as part of The White-Gold-Treaty. How You foolishly believe any forces that even attempt to enter current Dominion ruled lands have a chance is beyond Me. We destroyed the Forces of Your precious Empire, and We have had time to breed and train Goblin Hordes. We do not breed slower than You Humans, We chose to be selective in how Our Superiority can best be shown to the Lesser Races.

The rumour that there may be an individual that may possibly have gathered the knowledge of some long dead Enchanter from the First Era does not cross Our Minds! We have Dawn Magics on Our side. We know no living Man is capable of creating a Relic like Wuthraad. We sleep soundly in Our beds knowing Our time is still coming, and No Man can deny Our Superiority. Our Lands have remained free of the Human Stench, and We are ready for the next War, and freedom from this Prison called Mundus.

The civil war would have been 100% more fun if the Argonians in Windhelm had tagged the city with Stormcloacas Die! graffiti.

But, in the meantime, all hail the True High King Ulfric! Who, according to the Talos priestess, regularly prays to Talos for strength. So whether he cares about Talos or not, I submit, is not so easy to judge.

There is the thing about Ulfric being power hungry, just wanting to be High King. He can be justified. He doesn't want Skyrim to bow to the Thalmor, he wants to be an independent nation, he promises that after a Stormcloak victory the worship of Talos will become legal in Skyrim. If he could lead the Stormcloaks to victory and delivers what he has promised then it could be said that he has earned the place as High King.

I just can't see Ulfric as anything other than a military general. I have no clue why, but I do not see the political or diplomatic skills that the Empire seems to have.

The problem with fighting for the Empire is that there is no romance to it. Fighting for freedom, that I can understand. Fighting to maintain the status quo? Siding with the Empire as a Nord is a hard sell, if you ask me.

Not impossible, but it would have been good if Bethesda had included some way for the PC to be a victim of the Stormcloaks too, at the beginning of the game. Make it more even-handed. Joining the Stormcloaks just makes sense. Joining the Legion that was about to chop your head off? That takes some mental work that frankly my obsessive nature renders too distracting.
