[RELz] Storms & Sound 3.0

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 10:46 am

Thanks for this, downloaded and added to my collection. :)

Edit: Rated this 10 at Nexus.

Thanks a lot!

well...i tired your previous version and i was not really...satisfied.
I compared it with "PJs Lightning Strikes" and it was more immersive (talking about the flashing white screen)
here is what i'm talking about:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sD4tD1Pl9s
at 0:23 for example
...
have you finally added this feature to s&s 3.0 ????

Actually this feature was there since the beginning, it's just a little bit toned down compared to the video. The sky becomes too white for too long in the video I think. But it's there, and the mod has evolved heavily so I would give it a try if I were you. It's a cosmetic mod, so it can't hurt your game in any way.

Managed to take some shots!

That was the result of 149 screenshots with FRAPS :)

Sorry I didn't wait for you but uploaded them there first before showing them here :) They are a demonstration of what your mod can do and I saw no better place to upload them :icecream:

i havn't tried yet, but some idea is popping up in my mind, which i wanna share...
some time ago i played a game with some really nice fullscreen shader thunder effect, can't remember...splinter cell maybe?....anyway...
instead of using only a white fullscreen flash, how about adding some effect from the "screen effects" mod? Talking about something like this:
-black and white high contrast-

yeah I'm using the GOLD edition but it's been working great for ages. I think the new one was released so that they cover the script effects Duke uses in his mods, not as a general purpose script silencer (which I'm using it as :P)

hey, an update on this - I caught a storm the other day, and the lightning was triggering and making its sound effect, so all seems well!

This is actually a very good idea, although I think something quite different from that screenshot should be tried. I'll have to check it out.

Great, let me know how it goes. By the way, have you tried version 2.1 of Daggerfall Memories? If you want to give it a try and update the Quest List it would be great.

This version's a success, more than 1000 downloads and no bug reports for now. Thanks guys. I guess I should stop being lazy and upload it to PES too...

This might belong in the All Natural thread. But, do I still need the comaptibility .esp for Weather Inside that comes with All Natural?

Mmm, I didn't know about this esp. I think it may be necessary, unless you disable interior sounds in my mod. Does All Natural apply to Shivering Isles too, or only Cyrodiil?

Well I'll let the mod rest on its laurels for a while now. I'm working on some smaller mods to see if I can get the thrust to delve into big mods once again ;).

Not only it is bug free, but I've also noticed that the lightnings don't freeze my game as they used to do in previous versions (my graphics card is not very good). Great work on this, Deathless Aphrodite and Lilith :)

Hey Deathless, I have a question.

After installing this mod, a huge thunderstorm started while I was walking at night in the dense forest south of Choral. Lightening striking all around and I was able to see all the bolts as well as the animation as they hit the ground. It was awesome, and inspired me to post the "thank you" above. However (and this doesn't take away at all my appreciation) the following night, while in the marshes down by Leyawiin, another storm started up. This time, though, while I always saw the animation at the ground, the actual lightening bolt was not always visible. I made sure there was nothing blocking my view and I hung around awhile just to make sure I wasn't mistaken. I saw a few bolts, but more than 50% were invisible.

Is that normal? It could just be a fluke. I haven't encountered a storm since then so I haven't verified it, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

BTW, I am using Unique Landscapes. Could that have something to do with it?
