Hey Deathless, I have a question.

After installing this mod, a huge thunderstorm started while I was walking at night in the dense forest south of Choral. Lightening striking all around and I was able to see all the bolts as well as the animation as they hit the ground. It was awesome, and inspired me to post the "thank you" above. However (and this doesn't take away at all my appreciation) the following night, while in the marshes down by Leyawiin, another storm started up. This time, though, while I always saw the animation at the ground, the actual lightening bolt was not always visible. I made sure there was nothing blocking my view and I hung around awhile just to make sure I wasn't mistaken. I saw a few bolts, but more than 50% were invisible.

Is that normal? It could just be a fluke. I haven't encountered a storm since then so I haven't verified it, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

BTW, I am using Unique Landscapes. Could that have something to do with it?


No, actually UL has nothing to do with it. This actually happens once in a while, and it seems to happen in particular storms and not in others. But I was never able to really pinpoint the cause. It's one of the few shortcomings the mod's still got, so I'll keep on trying to fix it, but it may be engine-related.

I do have to say, however, that if that second storm I encountered with the missing bolts was actually the first storm that hit after installing the mod, I wouldn't have been anywhere near as blown-away by this mod as I was. On the contrary, I would have been pretty disappointed. Thankfully that wasn't the case... that first storm was just amazing.

So, while I do hope you are able to figure it out and fix it, this glitch will not make me uninstall the mod. I still really appreciate the work you did on it and commend you for coming up with these incredible, realistic, (and sometimes quite startling) visual and audio enhancements.

Due to faulty internet wireless adapter I reinstalled all my OS and respectively my Modblivion...
Nowadays, after installing the mod I have CTD every time there is a thunder...

Uninstalled and now I have no CTD but I want this mod - used to work so well for me... the ground trembles, it blindes you...
What went wrong?
Can you help me with advice and ideas?

I sincerely don't know, have you tried both the non Obse, EW specific version and the Obse version (which works with any weather mod)?

thank you for this mod. very good stuff.

just got back into this game and installed a bunch of realism mods and new weather mods. after getting everything working, its time to run around and thank all the modders for sharing their hard work. excellent mod!

very nice, except i'm not yet sure about the repeating wind when it rains. but one other thing, i'm using the omod and i have nw...so how does the omod know which file to use? (it doesn't ask if i'm using nw or aws etc.). but it does seem to be working fine.

There is an omod script which checks which weather mod you have installed and should work automatically. However I strongly recommend the Obse version, and if you have Obse you actually are using that one because the omod should choose it automatically.

Thanks. About the wind loop, I actually never noticed it, probably because I don't play with headphones but with my far and away stereo speakers. I'll check it out, although right now it's unlikely I'll make a new version of this if there's no big bug coming out.

I?m getting an error that Im almost sure its related with this mod.. I only get it during storms and also appeared using the startquest stormtest command... its an yellow oddity up in the sky with something written on it, its possible to see it here: http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk145/koki373737/error.jpg. I suppose its related to the lightning, since I can hear the thunder, but instead of a lightning, I get this yellow thing. I tried to use it.. perhaps Im doing something wrong, but I couldnt "select" the yellow thing in any way... maybe its too far up in the sky? Both spells from FormID Finder returned nothing. Besides, it flashes really fast and vanishes. This kind of error (missing meshes) cant get logged to console somehow?

Open your console and type in: tcl
You can then walk up to the missing mesh symbol. Use the FormID Finder on it, FormID finder will also note the information in the console. After you've gotten the information you need just enter tcl in your console again (make sure to be close to the ground first) to be returned to normal.

Use TES4EDIT and serach for that Form ID to find out what it is supposed to be.

A missing mesh means there's something wrong with the installation, there can be no other explanation. Otherwise everybody would get this missing mesh, but the mod is mostly bug-free as of now.

Which version of the mod are you using? I strongly suggest the Obse version.

I have GOTY and Im using the latest full SS version from http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/download.php?id=31800, and the esp OBSE-Storms & Sound SI.esp, and running OBSE v0016. The problem seems to be the lightning... is there any way to find out which is the missing mesh? I tried FormID Finder, but gave no useful (at least for me) info... I searched as suggested the code it returned on TES4EDIT, but found nothing. No chance to be a mod conflict or mod order issue?

It may be, although it's unlikely. Try changing the load order and loading my mod last, see if it fixes anything. I doubt it though.

I didn't even think lightnings had meshes to begin with. If it has, you should be able to replace it with someone else's file, or a replacement mod... can't find anything like it on TESNexus though. Superweird. Tried using a lightning spell yourself already?

Lightnings don't have meshes, but they have textures. This is too strange, I can't come up with a reason for it myself.

I've got the same problem as koki 373737. I've installed the mod properly using the non SI OBSE plugin (I'm using OBSE version 0016. I installed the full version of the 3.0 mod using OBMM. I also use the weather mod Weather Unofficial All Natural by Chong Li, version 0.8 with patches 0.8.4, 0.8.5 and 0.8.6 applied)

This missing lightning bolt mesh error has really got me stumped. I've applied almost 200 mods to my game and rarely had an issue I couldn't eventually reslove. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to solve this problem. My load order follows.

Blind question: "ScreenControl.esp"? What's that? Sounds like something that's supposed to warn you about missing ressources, and might put such a warning for some reason on the object Storms&Sound uses as activator for the lightning....?
