My story of fallout + a question

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 7:33 pm

I remember my first Fallout was the brotherhood of steel back in 2006 for XBOX. I love that game. I remember saving every time i saw a saving machine thingy, and my friend (I only played co-op) would always get mad.

At the time i knew nothing about this game. I just enjoyed scavenging the wastes.

In 2009 i bought a PS3 & my first game was, Fallout 3. Still, i didn't know anything about the game. I didn't read ANY instructions or "how tos" I just went around and shot raiders & mutated animals. I did like 50 missions.... 4 of those were mainstory missions. I had no clue what i was doing. got my character to lvl 16 and sold the game b/c of boredom & lack of interest.

I bought New Vegas in June. AND STILL, didn't know what i was doing.Again i wasn't completing mainstory quests. UNTIL, i read the manual. I was like WTF seriously how could i miss something so obvious like the little bullet on compass is where u go to complete the next step of the quest. (I know what ur thinking, WOW wat a nub) When i read the manual i was like lvl 14 in game so i did benefit. My skill points were farely high so i could do a lot of stuff. And made talking to people easier and quests as well were easier.

Now that i understood the game i started playn the main story. I ended up beating the game a lvl 29. I Saved right before the final mission so i could do wild card and house for trophies. After that ive been having a hard time playing through a 2nd time. Cuz i know wat happens after all mainstrory missions.

So now that i know how to play, i want to get fallout 3 again. But this time i want the GOTY edition.

Heres my question. Should i trade in Fallout new vegas & call of duty Crap ops for FO3 GOTY? If not i'll hav too wait til i make more money. 30.00 to be exact.

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel is not considered a Fallout game, due to it messing with the setting of the original two set up.

I think you should not sell NV if you have the DLCs for it, if not then go ahead.

Or get GameFly, spend twelve dollars (a month) and enjoy as many games as you want, that sounds like the best choice. If they're sitll around (that deal still sounds too good to be true).

It had things such as Vault-Tec Power Armor, in previous Fallout games Vault-Tec was a construction company and West-Tek (an armor and weapons company) was the only company with power armor.

And there was the character in it who claimed to be roughly 140 years old while looking in her mid twenties.

No one said it wasn't fun... I can't speak from experience about it though. BOS is a different kind of game than the regular FO series; (So is FO3 for that matter).

Sebor13 had good suggestions IMO. I would also say keep NV.

Wal*mart had FO3 GOTY for $19.99 last time I was in there.

Last time I was at Gamestop F3 was at $16.99, F3 GOTY was $18.99, and F:NV was $17.99.

The pricing at my Gamestop is absolutely insane! Alpha Protocal is still $30.00 while F:NV is $17.99 (as I posted above).

Go through allying with different factions, both main and other. You will see things from different perspectives and will see some new quests entirely.

FOBOS is a fun and well made game, but Fallout in title only. That's the main beef there.

P.S. Don't trade Fallout New Vegas for Black Ops and F3. Screw Black Ops and just make sure you have both F3 and NV

As others have pointed out Fallout: Brotherhood of steel aka "The Burned Game" aka Fallout: Piece if Crap (PoS) isn't canon. Even the Devs that made it (Hervé Caen /Interplay) back peddled when PoS hit the fans and made up some crap about how it was not intended to be a Canon Fallout Game. Hervé Caen cancelled Van Buren aka Fallout 3 for "The Burned Game" and in the end killed Fallout as a series and later sold Fallout because Interplay was going belly up.

So in short "The Burned Game" ended Fallout because it breaks canon on so all over the place and pissed the fans off. The new guys running interplay never attempted to make another. Bethesda doesn't consider it canon.

So as for you're question.. Keep New Vegas, get the DLC and then go out and get Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics and play them. Once you finish playing them and replay New Vegas, go out dig a hole in the ground, put "The Burned Game" in the ground. Cover it in gas and burn it, then pee on the ash and bury it. I have a feeling you might want to after playing the originals.
