Story...Give us something to chew on!

Ok gamesas I think it is time to give us a bit of story info. At least give us some hints that we can argue about for a couple of weeks.

All the previous Fallouts have dealt with The Vault Dweller. The Lone Wanderer. With a game where there are multiple Lone Wanderers how will the Lore handle this. Please give us a taste. In Fallout 1 we were a virgin to the wastes, fresh from the Vault searching for a Water Purification Chip. Fallout 2 had us as a descendant of the Vault Dweller. Out to bring life to the wastes and secure Arroyo's place in the world with grabbing a G.E.C.K. Fallout Tactics gave us a taste of the Brotherhood in Chicago. We help or destroy the lands by the use of Robots. Fallout 3 takes us to the Eastern coast where we restore order to the D.C. area and bring life-giving water for all.

Where do we stand with this game. What catastrophe do we face in the waste?
Who is the Antagonist?
How do Vaults fit in?
What time frame are we looking at?

Most of the posts here deal with game mechanics. I am a lore-fiend. I love the story behind the series and I would love to see how it fits in with so many protagonists running around trying to better or worsen the wasteland.

Could we possibly see many different characters from different factions and starting zones? NCR, Brotherhood, Muties, Ghouls, Deathclaws, Wastelanders, and Enclave. Or are we all destined to be from the same place seeking the same goal.

Just a taste please. Also I guess I am noob but just who are the developers who troll this Board. Image

You wake up in an old rusty bathtub with your head feeling like it's going to explode.
You reek of Gin and you have some pictures of you an 2 of the ugliest creatures on earth, doing things you didn't think were physically possible, and you're not sure if they really have skin.
You wonder who and what they are. Then you wonder who you are.
On the back of one picture is a note. :Look us up when you get to ghoul-ville."
That's when you lose what's left in your stomach.
You can't remember your name, who you are, where you came from, or how you got where you are.
You just know you hate Gin.
Welcome to Fallout.

The newsletters will be the primary method of us teasing the story until we get to the beta. I've seen a few newsletters ahead and they have, erm, character -- that's for sure.
