Storyline LENGTH

Post » Mon Mar 08, 2010 12:38 pm

I honestly would love to play a game for hours on end just to beat it especially if it was like oblivion but didn't end so sudden

what about u?

Main storyline? Don't care, I spend most of my time on side-quests.

The storyline? I don't care how long the storyline is. It could be 8 hours for all I care. A 400 hour storyline would be pretty hard to achieve. It's the side content that would make up the game.

A relatively long storyline would be nice. Hopefully longer than Oblivion's.

I spend more time on the side quests, though, so I hope there are a ton of those.

Quality over Quantity, but yeh I think if I had the choice i'd rather have a longer, more in-depth story line than Oblivions.

Storyline? Elder Scrolls games? Together? Focus on a storyline in an Elder Scrolls game? What?

I firmly believe free-roaming, freelancing, and faction joining is the strength of the series. The storyline means relatively little in comparison, to me.

I think the story line is the most important!
The side quests just help it!

I would prefer a long main quest, without a lot of plot and focus on characters etc. than random side quests...
I mean Main Quests + Guilds quests should be longer than the random side quests (go save her, find me this, spy on him, find who killed who, kill fish 'cause my leg hurts etc.) :P

Whatever creates the best story. I'd rather have it be short and good than long and BORING(or worse). To me, its more important what you can do between/after the quests.

20 quests were the count on both Oblivion and Morrowind [Although Oblivion first 3 were sort of equal to Morrowind's first] if I remember correctly. A lot of Morrowind's quests required another side quest to complete though, so that isn't quite accurate. So I think there should be either 20 Morrowind type quests where someone asks you to do something else to complete the original quest or at least 30 Oblivion type quests.

I don't want the main quest to drag on (more than 100 hours) but a really epic main quest would be best.

If they sacrifice length for depth, I would appreciate that.

Don't care how long it is.

As long as it's good and memorable I'm happy.

Epic of course. The longer the better. Not that quantity should replace quality though...

Doesn't matter much to me - but I hope it branches somewhat, like Daggerfall and Morrowind.

I also care more for the side quests - the main story should be good and long, but I think 400 hours is a bit too much :)

another view is it could be them 50-100 hours of memorable fun but then they could atleast set us up for an expansion, that'd be awesome imo.

Yeah, 400 hours is a very unrealistic time frame for a main story, even with the (longer) development periods of the TES games. I'd like a big main quest, but if that takes away from side quests, then I'd rather they focus there and create a lot more side quests that are in depth.

I'm gonna edit my statement somewhat: I hope they change leveling so that you can't complete the MQ at level 1, and maybe it'll feel like it's taking longer, since you have to go take side quests and stuff to get more experience before you go drive back the dragons or whatever the main quest is. I still care more for the side quests, though.

If they could capture the slow build up of Morrowind while eliminating the tedious "Go here, get this, and come back" quests that would be amazing.

400 hours? Are you joking?

I can't believe most people actually picked 400 hours.

Other. 400 is kind of long. Maybe something in the 40 hour range for the Main Quest, with various other comparable questlines for factions, misc. quests, etc.

I'd like it to be atleast 25 hours alone, without counting the time leveling up to be able to beat the enemies in the main quest.
