STR Implant

Post » Thu Jun 20, 2013 1:25 pm

So I decided to try some implants.

Prior to any implants my carrying capacity was 200. Strength was 5.

So I get the STR implant and now my Strength is 6, but my carrying capacity is still 200.

I thought carrying capacity was a derived attribute based on your strength, but mine didn't change with the increased strength. Is this a known bug or could their be something else pulling my carrying capacity down? I really don't use melee but I would love to be able to carry more so that was the whole point of getting the implant (well that, and playing Caravan is giving me caps to burn).

Thanks.

You don't have any negative effects do you?

It should have added 10lb carry weight i think. Like Legend said, check to see if anything is affecting you(like gecko meat)

I'll have to check again and take some screenshots. The character I'm playing doesn't take any drugs other than Stimpaks and Sarsaparilla. Will use RadX and Radaway as needed. Never eats anything and drinks only purified water.

I can't think of anything I'm wearing causing the problem since it's just reinforced leather armor, the beret and glasses.

I also noted that I'm still getting only 13 skill points on each level-up even though I increased my INT also, and this is with several level ups after getting the implants. This svcks.

boosting intelligence +1 only gets you an extra 0.5 skill points per level. So you'll only see an extra skill point every other level. That may account for why you still got 13 points.

Super Stimpacks have a temporary STR debuff I think.

That will still let you max out or nearly max out all your skills once you reach Level 50.

The only real reason to increase Strength is for Weapon Handling and or Melee Damage. Perks can help with the Weapons and the Carry Weight

I have used those before, but it was ages ago. I don't recall any active effects running but I'll check again. Tonight I'll either come back and say everything is working fine, or post some screenshots of the problem.

I just wanted the STR to carry more loot. I just learned that certain weapons have a minimum STR to avoid penalties. My guy doesn't touch any heavy weapons or machine guns so I should be fine there.
