Has Bethesda come out and explained why they force our character to be straight (or at least bisixual) and married with a baby?
Has Bethesda come out and explained why they force our character to be straight (or at least bisixual) and married with a baby?
In order to tell the story that they want to tell I assume.
I wonder how many people will ask this question.
....really?.....come on, its called story telling and most of the population is straight or bi anyway and most people get married and have a kid. It is also a way to making choosing a gender part of the game
also, 50's america culture "perfect home"
this thread is going to go down hill and FAST.
Sorry, it's just that it's never been a problem in the Fallout games before and my characters are rarely straight. It just feels a little weird.
They have a story to tell, after all... it is their game.
It's not. It's different from a Bethesda game.
OP, married and having kids does not mean you're straight or even bisixual. Especially not in the 1950-esque culture. Depends on how they choose to handle it going forward from that point.
Because they've never done this before. In any of their Elder Scrolls games or Fallout 3. And New Vegas didn't do it either.
Like I said, it's a bit weird innit? Maybe they'll give us the option to at least make a same six marriage.
Societal pressure forced your homosixual character into marriage and kids, but you finally broke free of the restraints and went on a gay rampage of the wasteland. You're welcome.
Now i'm going to feel terrible for my spouse if they survive. D:
no, because CHARACTERR CREATION has to do with the married couple in front of a mirror
Deal with the fact that the game is not 100% adding a gay option, most games do not have any romance at all.
Most Bethesda games have ZERO romance, none at all. fallout 3 also did not allow your character to choose the same-six perk, you could only choose opposite gender. Fallout new vegas was made by a DIFFERENT COMPANY.
A better company too.
You guys are pretty immature about discussing this topic. Even Four chan handles discussion over this stuff more civilly.
You're late to the party. We've gone over this a hundred times and arrived at no conclusion satisfying everyone.
Skyrim was the first game that offered a marriage option. It didn't discriminate by six either. I wouldn't be surprised to see something similar here.....
As for the starting scenario, I would bet real money that one/both of the characters that you are not playing, are going to play a significant role in the game.
No, and I don't think that they will until launch. This is because the only reason they would have made such a 'drastic' decision is if it were crucial to the story. And the only reason that makes any real sense is if the shared DNA of the child and both parents were somehow critical to the events of the main quest.
There is literally no other reason that Bethesda would have made this choice.
we understand that not all games HAVE to have a gay option for everything.
If anything, whining that the main character is married and has a kid and is probably not gay is childish.
I'd hardly call it whining. It's a valid complaint considering the franchises history.
And I wouldn't throw stones in glass houses since you spazzed the most over the question.
At this point, any argument that can be said within this thread... has been made. We've had multiple threads with the same exact premise... and none of which have led to anything of merit. All of which, have turned to name calling at some point... and it seems this one has reached this point quicker than most.
Your marriage wasn't real. You are actually Nikita Russianov and you and your 'spouse' were actually a deep cover Soviet spies trained for years to infiltrate American culture and get close to MIT to steal technology. Part of your infiltration involves living as a typical American familiy, including having a child (this sounds familiar ...). Your true love, however, is your handler, Tatyana Somethingelserussianov who visits your family twice a year to debrief you posing as cousin Mary from Cleveland.
There, now your bases are covered and stuff.
Because they choose to tell a specific story. This is no different to other RPG's giving you a ready designed character
