Strange Speed Drain Randomly(ish)

I'm using I don't feel quite right, but thought something was wrong with it because I kept giving me the 'not feeling right' info alert, but when I checked all my stats there were no negative attributes noted, nor anything in the active effect list of the spells tab to give an indication of what rhe cause was. Then I decided to train my sneaking on some sleeping mages in the guild hall and noticed my PC's speed drop right down and the IDFQR alert happen, but returning to normal when I moved the mouse direction slightly. Wierd I thought. Opening my journal I saw http://img97.imageshack.us/i/obspeeddraincrop.jpg/. Something clearly draining my speed for some reason, but what? Slight alterations in the direction of the sneak running would cause it to be drained, then return to normal. I suspect this is the cause of the IDFQR message spamming. It sounds like a sneak penalty, but am unaware of any mod I have installed which does this.

I had this problem when using an older version of Willful Resistance, before the scripts were optimized. But it looks like you're using version 4.0, which is pretty recent. The latest version is listed as 4.1 on TESNEXUS.

I don't thing so, and anyway, I'm not overburdened when this occurs. Whis is a new problem which I didn't have on my last game prior to a new install. The only difference is I'm using FCOM and RBP and very much doubt it's either. Luckily the latest version of Realistic levelling recognises it as a drain and ignors it, so it's not much of a problem, just REALLY annoying!

Remove ++ MMM-Cobl.esp [Version 1.69], until it made to fit with FCOM, and try to do a clean reinstall of RL. Remove it, save, and re-add it.

Fran's has a "reduced backwards running speed" script.

If you happen to be moving backwards when you activate your menu, you'll see this effect.

IDFQR Readme:

Known Issues or Bugs
====================
There is a minor issue with mods that trigger the hitshader (Realistic Fatique for
example) or imposes penalties (Deadly Reflex for example) on attributes or skills.
IDFQR will trigger during these events. With the hitshader effect, you may have a
momentary glitch and it will correct itself on the next trigger.

As for the penalties, you could see a "I don't feel quite right" when running backwards
or performing some other act where a penalty could be imposed. Sorry, can't do anything
about that.

This mod will ignore any NEW attribute or skill added by another mod.

Removed MMM-Cobl - same
Happens with RL uninstalled and after clean save :(
Fran's has a "reduced backwards running speed" script....snip

Doesn't occur when running backward. It does it most when sneaking forwards.
Also removing Realistic fatigue has no effect.

I can't help thinking it RBP, but I can't remember reading anything like this in the readme/website

BTW, there appears to be a bug in Wrye Bash at the moment with regards to race records. How many mods do you have in the race records section of your bashed patch?

Er, not on my PC at the mo (and won't be for a while - curse you 12hr shifts :angry: ) but at an educated guess I think 3 or 4
EVE_KhajiitFix.esp, and a couple of the bgBalacing modules and one from bgMagic, NPC additions I think

If you have any experience with TES4Edit, you might want to copy the information from the other mods into the RBP core mod (or remove the race information from the other mods if it's a minor edit, like I did with Hoarfrost Castle and DID3), then remove the extra mods.

Odds are, right now, you're losing a bunch of RBP stuff including a lot of the race relations information.

Yup, I basically avoid multiple modules affecting the vanilla races. Copy over all desired changes into the RBP plugin.

No, you can have more than one ticked. I have yet to run into these race issues with the more recent WB releases, but the only mods ticked in my bashed patch are RBP and...B&M I think. They do not overlap. Merging the changes into RBP saves plugin slots and reduces the load order and bashed patch tinkering you have to for everything to come out "right." Plus, this is one of the more simple patch jobs to do, so do not worry about it. Normally, however, you should be able to tick off a bunch of race modifiers in the bashed patch. Hence, the next WB release is planned to be basically a bunch of bug fixes.

Well I was slightly wrong with my Race records guess. I have three, 1) MMM - Resized Races, 2) bgBalancingCoreEV and 3) Eve_Kahjiit.
I just rebuilt my Bashed PAtch without merging 1 and 3 and without importing ANY race record and the speed drain problem remained. In fact it seemed worse, draining to -59!
It's rather frustrating as it seems reallt difficult to pin down.
If it's was from a script, wouldn't it appear in to console print out like RL RF and AN do? Is there a comand to force it to give more info?

Console information is dependent on the script have debug information written in to it with "printtoconsole" lines.

It only happens when sneaking?

I'd be tempted at this point to use WinGrep to search for "player.issneaking" and have a look at specific scripts.

It's hard to say. When sneaking next to someone sleeping it occurs long enough the open my journal and see my stats page. It's also repeatable. It could be some other skill/attribute being drained when it happens at other times, buy by the time the IDFQR blur has happened, the drain has disappeared!

Try using http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21862. It can show you which scripts are running on you, and what mods they're from.

Thanks for that tip, which in turn pointed me to the OBSEv18 non-beta release :D
However, I have been unable to get RefScope to give me any data about scripts being applied to me. The problem is still occuring about once every 10-20 mins, so as an unwanted cure I may have to unistall IDFQR. Although it's really useful for when you get a disease or attribute damage and you don't notice, the random speed drain which triggers it isn't actually noticable at the time, i.e. it never happens when you're actually running.

Ho-hum, the joys of modded oblivion :cry:

Oh no OBSE runs fine. I ment the latest RefScope informed me it required v18, not 18beta6 which I had installed. I'd d'loaded it, but not installed.
Every 10 mins or so I get the I Don't Feel Quite Right blur (IDFQR.esp is the actual name of the plugin and it's full name is a bit of a mouthful), caused by this large speed drain. As I rarely notice the drain itself, removing IDFQR will stop this.

Install v18. It is newer than the beta...and its stable...

Edit: ...and the new version of RefScope requires it, hence the message...
