Strange sword.

http://www.imgur.com/E4MjPUY.jpeg Hey guys I just found this really weird sword, found it at level 10 and have had it just mounted on my wall for 100+ hours of play, I think it is weird because it is single handed, does 29 damage unenchanted, and is only worth 5 septims. I found it just laying around in whiterun, maybe it's owner was victim to a dragon attack, but still, strange. does anyone know who this strange sword belongs to, why its so cheap? Also, sorry for bad lighting, Xbox a.k.a. no screenshots, and it's dark in my room, so if you are wondering I have an elven sword of leeching in my left hand, steel Axe of cowardice in my right.

Redguard's looking for Saadia probably died somehow and left the scimitar. They are carried by Alik'r Warriors.

That belongs to the Redguards in Whiterun who have come from Hammerfell.

A scimitar, belonging to the Alik'r warriors. They have a quest associated with them and are usually found waiting at the Whiterun gates. It's from Hammerfell, which explains the high base damage.

Likely the Redguard's mentioned above.

There are actually 3 unique versions of the scimitar.

One is part of the Dark Brotherhood questline and two are a part of the Deathbrand quest in the Dragonborn DLC.

Oh, and curved swords. Curved swords.

It's a Scimitar. The Swords carried by the Alik'r. If you found it in whiterun maybe a Dragon took one of them out. They worth next to nothing, yet are a very handy and efficient sword. That is intentional.

It's from one of the Alik'r Redguards, they are the only ones who carry those. They're usually in Whiterun briefly before the town guards run them out. Maybe one dropped it, or was killed and dropped it, who knows?

When used in pairs I believe they are quite good for dual weilding, although it's not a form of offense that I ever use.

Ignorant Nord merchants probably think the sword is useless because it's so curved. I wonder how much Imperial swords go for in Hammerfell...

So in hammerfell, you can get a very strong sword for a few septims. Next time my friends ask me why I don't play daggerfall, I will tell them this :D

Yup, and it's in Skyrim which explains the low value - Nords doesn't believe in curved swords no matter how sharp they are.

If you think that sword is cool you should got for the special variants of that sword. The two sets of links supplied here contain spoilers, click with caution. http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Windshear / http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Bloodscythe and http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Soulrender *Dragonborn DLC required for the last two*

That was probably the best part of the video, along with his gang of Redguards.
