strange thing near character?

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 8:43 am

Has anyone noticed a strange thing next to their character sometimes? I can't quite explain it. If you go in water you'll see a thing about a foot or two from your character, that follows you. It causes ripples like there is an invisible person or object there. It doesn't always appear and can go with a reload of the game. I have heard bodies move when I haven't touched them. It's hard to tell if you have this if not near water. I also noticed this in skyrim, and never really asked what it was before.

It's something that is bugging me. If it is making ripples and moving bodies,is it going to affect sneak detection? I really hope someone knows what the hell I'm talking about here...because I can't be the only one to have noticed this. There is a video on IGN showing the Luck bobblehead location. In this video, what I described happens as the character goes in water.

Any info on this would be appreciated.

Take care.

Yeah. I would like to know what it is or what causes it. This only started in skyrim and has now carried over to fallout 4. I'm wondering if it something to do with the engine changes since skyrim. I never noticed this in any other fallout or elder scrolss game before skyrim.

So you are aware of it? Do you know anything about it at all? If it is a bug that's fine. I just need to know about it. It's something that's bugged me for a long time. But I have never seen any other mention of it.

Tbh last night when I was scavenging an abandoned med lab I was absolutely sure I saw something move in the periphery of my characters vision.. Just for a brief moment it looked like an "invisible" person moved in the corner of my eye.

Don't [censored] tell me there's a ghost haunting me, the game is thrilling enough even without poltergeists!!

Please elaborate? Because I swear the other night I heard someone whispering / mumbling to me "inside my head" and I even tried to find info about it online because thought Mirelurks can send voices to your head with their supersonic attack (or whatever it's called). I couldn't make out what it said but it sounded [censored] creepy, I got the sudden feeling like some old grandpa was trying to convinve me to join him in the basemant where I'd find the magical multidimensional portal to the candyland where the rivers run rich with honey crusted cereal and bees are made of strawberry jelly

Do you have the Mysterious Stranger perk? maybe he really does follow you to appear in VATS and is just stealth boyed all the time. Be kind of creepy sleeping and thinking there is an invisible man at the foot of the bed watching you sleep.

I remember seeing this when I was hunting Mirelurks. I thought it was one of those creepy dolphins that always wash up on shore.

It's your dead wife/husband. Never should have opened that fridge.

Put the wedding ring on Dogmeat and send him far, far away.

Sometimes when I'm using the jetpack the smoke graphics will get stuck on my screen, but only in first person.

Yea, first I noticed it in Skyrim around 2013. At first I thought it was my mods, but when I saw it too in Fallout 4 I finally understood it's the engine, not the mods.

I have no idea what's the cause of this though, all I know for sure it's that it's linked to the player only because it does the exact same movements as you at the same time. Like you control 2 player characters. But it's the first time I see this kind of thing in any game (besides Skyrim too of course).

Maybe its the spirit of a disgruntled dev that offed himself during Skyrim's production. They pushed the code monkey to the brink of insanity with the 11/11/11 deadline and it was more than he could handle. Now he haunts us from his code imbedded in the games engine.... and that whispering? Its his maniacal chant to Godd Howard, to show him the way to the land of one and zero.

It would explain the mannequin "bug". It was his spirit trying to manifest itself in a blank vessel.
