I doubt they single out shotguns for one perk or even as a big gun, but yeah I suspect it′s a perk for modding big guns at least *shrug*

Shotguns along with the rest of the weapons available with that perk. It will probably be at least fire related weapons and possibly even all big guns.
Noted, but keep in mind even flamers have been considered big guns in the past.
Hey, not saying I didn't like it. It was a fun little video to watch. I'm just so curious about the perks. Almost painfully so.
Prediction: Nexus Hot Files - FO4 Paddle Ball weapon mod
It's a marketing video and it served its purpose.
...There was a spinnoff Ultima game where the most powerful weapon was a paddle ball. I wish I was making that up. Spoony did a review of it if you wanna look it up.
That would actually be a fun weapon, and probably really humiliating to your opponent.
personally I use the hoe of destruction ;3
Yeah, this. When I first heard about the videos I figured they weren't going to run down the perks at all and just give us a funny "edutainment" sort of video. The fact that they made the video get wonky during the perk run-down is just teasing us now, though. I love it. Can't wait to see what they have for Endurance.
That was great!. Might be confirming one of my fears though. That weapons will require strength to wield.
Well, when they talk about Strength in conjunction with using weapons, they only show melee weapons. The big surprise from that video is really that Strength will play into crafting weapons. I suppose I could see it with crafting melee weapons (since they fall under the Strength category), but it shows VB crafting a shotgun.
I'd be in favor of strength being necessary for crafting armor and weapons. Strength, in general, I always found to be a rather useless stat as melee weapons are always at a disadvantage and being able to carry more is nice but not an absolute necessity. Strength, quite frankly, was really a useless stat unless you were just a pack rat and wanted to be a mobile house. The more benefits to having the stat, the better I say.
Very nice little vídeo.Lots of details.
Kinda liked those film transition edit effects.
At the "carry weight" part, what′s that after the alarm clock? Is it a helmet?...Also, before the bobblehead, there is a hockey disk. Boston Bruins confirmed?
Yeah that worries me too. Especially since I'm planning on only putting like 2 points in STR.
I think that was just future videos bleeding into this one. Guns and their parts are definitely a part of intelligence now.
Definitely not, as you can see them under the strength section when it shows the chart.
It is more than likely specific types of weapons and armor, like Big guns, or high recoil weapons. Perhaps even modding basic weapons into harder hitting, heavier versions. But that's just my two cents. Beyond that it's essentially Wait and see.
Maybe Combat Shotguns are categorized under Big Guns, now? I mean, I'd love to have a shotgun with enough heft to make it a Big Gun, personally, but it's still a little weird to see ST perks that involve crafting firearms. I guess I can see it in the sense of crafting heavy weapons, the logic being that you'd need some amount of physical strength just to work with the components.
I don't think we'll be seeing Strength requirements on any weapons, though. I do think we'll see perks that specifically benefit heavy weapons, or mitigates the drawbacks of them; which is essentially the same basic concept as ST requirements, except it's additive instead of subtractive. If that makes any sense.
Well that was a whole lot of nothing, at least it was entertaining I guess.
Maybe it's a Fully Automatic 10 Gauge? At this point it's impossible to tell.
Didn't learn anything I don't already know...
Pointless video was pointless.
Very nicely done. Now I want to go watch classic Looney Tunes.
They should steal the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wg5VZxafgcg from Metro, it'd fit in pretty well under big guns.
I'd imagine automatic shotguns have a ridiculous amount of recoil... it's probably fair to categorize something like that under "Big Guns", although the benefit of the new perk chart is that it's all on one layer; so I bet you can craft different components for the same gun depending on what perks you have.
It seems like a lot of people misinterpreted what these SPECIAL videos were actually going to be. These were definitely always meant to be promotional material more than any sort of "this is how the game works in fine detail" sort of stuff. And by those merits, I found it very entertaining.
