Stripping mods from weapons

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 11:04 pm

Why can't you strip mods off of weapons you pick up? I pick up a gun because it has a better sight. All I want is that sight to put on another gun. Why do I have to create another sight before I can remove the one I want and waste adhesive doing it? All I want to do is strip the mods I want off of guns and scrap the rest and I don't want to waste resources doing it. It should be a simple matter to remove a magazine from a gun without building a new one to replace it. They are quite literally made to be removed.

With armor, you can just remove the mod and be done with it. Why not with weapons? It actually makes less sense with armor. You can take leather armor and boil it to make it tougher. You can then later UNBOIL it to make it standard again and store boiling for when you want to boil leather again. Now that's a stretch.

I agree. It is definitely a flaw in the system. Even if I have to use new adhesive, I could understand that (well, glue? no welding??)...

Can't you just select "Standard" to remove the enhancement? I believe it will generally cost some materials, but not nearly as much as applying a new mod.

Just select Standard and it will remove the mod and place in your inventory, doesn't cost any mats.

Why should I HAVE to use material? I should just be able to remove a mod and scrap the gun. If I am going to scrap a gun anyway why would I care if there are any sights on it? A gun is basically a collection of mods. Let me just part it out. A simple button press to break any gun down into it's respective mods.

How about this? You go to a junk yard. you find a car that has the muffler you need. You take the muffler to put on your car. You do not make a new muffler to put on the junk yard car before you leave. That would be silly.

Unless you have an update I don't it still requires material. The barrel attachment mod is the only one you can just take off without replacing with something else. The cheapest one is the magazine that only requires 2 materials but that is dumbest one of all.
